Just two weeks after debuting his new “Dark Father” persona, Aleister Black was released from WWE. Now, Tommy End, the man behind the ominous character, is speaking about the days leading up to his release, creative control or lack thereof, his unrelenting positivity at the end of a stop-and-start WWE career, and, of course, where we might see him next.

I think I'm more pissed off about this than he is. Tommy is pure gold and it was a huge mistake to let him go. We share so much in common but have never spoken a word to each other. Our love for the same types of music, movies, games, body art and pro wrestling, our struggles with depression and anxiety... it just makes me feel connected to him. And that's what it's all about. He's going to continue to do great things with or without the WWE. Nothing but love for this dude.

The inevitable consequence of hoarding talent for the better part of a decade. They tried to kill the indie surge by buying up key talent and offering NXT as an alternative, but it didn't kill the surge. Now, *every* time they release talent it will get this reaction. Everyone on the main roster is so damn good that it makes no creative sense to cut them, so every cut they make will look like a bloodbath/be suspicious/unbelievable, etc. Proof of concept: how dramatically does WWE tv change if they cut Cesaro, Asuka, Shayna, Dijak, Shane Thorne, and Mustafa Ali? Versus, how does the rest of wrestling change by those 6 dropping into the free agency?

@@RabidDogma Agreed. AEW opening the so-called forbidden door was a great idea for many companies to work together and bring up ratings and have dream matches that people never thought they would see. See to see that WWE didn't open it right after their handshake deals with a few indy companies a few years ago. They need to just stop trying to act as top dog and let the door open. They would be able to have unused talents be seen in other places as well talents that are used to be seen in other companies.

Life is very short as we have seen lately with Brodie Lee. He just dove into it crowd or no crowd straight into pandemic season. He killed it on TV every week. There were few people in the stands, but trust me, we were all very noisy at home seeing him debut. Then there's Lio Rush. At the ripe time when he just debuted in AEW, he suffers that injury. We never know what happens in life. It is so sudden like that. I know he'll have fun out there.... but... Please don't wait too long. :)

It is true, WWE's last big pushes to make their vision of stars were Seth, Roman and Moxley. Since then NO ONE has gotten that treatment. Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy, Andrade and Ricochet SHOULD have gotten that treatment. These 4 guys are the future. But I guess Vince or whoever is suppose to view everyone on the roster didn't see those 4 as the stars. It honestly sounds like HHH knows how to run the business cuz NXT is always rocking with the talent that is being shown. It sucks when someone gets release because no one should ever be fired from any job. I really hope Tommy End has a great career ahead of him cuz I was so excited to see him no matter where he was. Whether AEW, NJPW, Impact or where ever I will be watching. Great interview, one of my top favorites Renee!!

There is probably the very rare exception (Rey years back, he got better at this point) but that is barely worth talking about. But yea it's television insulting the IQ of the audience and everybody has to be liked by the audience of one. AEW has been a blessing man. Idc if people don’t like it or what but one thing you can’t deny, is that they give everyone tv time or try to. Tommy is going to take it to the next level with the storytelling.

WWE really dropped the ball big-time on this one. Wherever Tommy ends up I sure hope that Thea will show up with him.

@@nateputerbaugh5709 he isn't going to go back. Anybody with any common sense or self dignity wouldn't go back to a place that nearly ruined his career and played so many games. The WWE ship has sailed. Tommy is too smart and self respecting to accept whatever b.s. they'll spew to get him back if that is even allegedly true that they want him back. Wouldn't shock me if he has had conversations with Tony Kahn already about his future. This guy is the real deal and the WWE really dropped the ball.
