This was an exceptionally well edited, scripted and presented look at the arcade classic Renegade. You've certainly shown an impressive range of your passion for the work you create, but also the knowledge and entertainment throughout your breakdown and review of this beat'em up gem. It's clear from this video of the potentials your series has and with continued development and dedication could certainly blossom into a great collection of gaming/knowledgable videos. Keep up the great work you've shown here.

Thank you so much for the kind words, honestly this made my day! I definitely plan to keep going on this series and others, so I'm certainly glad to know that you're looking forward to more! ...Hopefully I didn't peak too early here 😅

2:08 Man, I didn't know Yayoi Kusama was in a video game gang. That explains so much.

Countless hours on the Speccy port of this one!
@BClarkOMP6 ай бұрын
Oh really?! So had you played the arcade version before that port, or was it your first experience with the game? I'll be the first to admit that as an American I not surprisingly have VERY little exposure to the Spectrum and all of the micro computers that never really made it over here!
@fullfatcola41326 ай бұрын
@@BClarkOMP It was my first exposure to the game, so honestly still looks odd to me to see more than like 3 colours on the screen at once
@BClarkOMP6 ай бұрын
@@fullfatcola4132 I can understand! It was kind of like that with me and Ghosts 'n Goblins as well, with the NES and arcade versions!

Sushi: These were some real tough guys! Oddly, this is probably the game in the Kunio series I have spent the least amount of time with. I like were the series moved into after this release and gave us more of an RPG beat em' up franchise (one that is still supported quite well as of today). You can certainly see where that aesthetic of the characters comes from, but I think it ended up being more distinct and better served with the more chibi-style.

I don't think it's even arguable that most people prefer the chibi look, and certainly I do as well! It's just the identity that the series has, either way. I do love this one though, and I'll be interested to see what my feelings are on the rest the series as I get into it in the coming months, because god I haven't played any of those games in forever!

Interesting to see the differences in the art style. I am so used to the Super Dodge Ball look that this is a bit odd. Neat to see the differences between the JPN and NA releases. Pretty brutal with the 1-hit KOs. The Warriors is a cult classic. Also of note, it's based off of an ancient account by Xenophon, an Athenian, who was a part of a 10k group of mercenaries helping Cyrus the Younger win the Persian throne. Things go sideways when Cyrus dies in battle, so the Greeks, deep in Persian territory, need to find a way home. Glad to see my thought on the graphics is considered in the latter parts of this video. Oh boy, that next one😅

I was also used to that style so it was very jarring to me at first too! But I've played this game so much at this point that I've gotten used to it! Also, I should have known I could have counted on you for a historical reference like that! I legitimately had no idea that movie was based off of much of anything!

Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! The games all won't be as good as this one (sadly), but hopefully you'll stick around for more!
