Wouldn't it be a little foolish for a business to have a step by step tutorial on how people can build their own parts and bypass us all together? Then, when their efforts don't work, we get blamed. We'd like to stay in business another 40 years if that's ok with you!

@NemuiJin Believe me when I say, some people get pissed at us when we refuse to give them our engineering schematics. They threaten to write up bad reviews, excoriate us on the Internet, and shame us to all who will listen just to get our designs. We've never given in, and most threats go silent, but those that do manage to punch at the air seem to show up in some awkward places, including here on KZbin. The few that have copied our parts either get it wrong and have multiple failures we seem to get blamed for, or cut corners that lead to catastrophic failures (that we also get blamed for). 40 years...and we've managed to keep going quite nicely! Thank you for your interest in Renegade!

@@RenegadeHybrids Is it because it can't or just not tryed ? Size? Or that Kennedy does not make a adaptor ? Thanks for the help.
@RenegadeHybrids3 жыл бұрын
@@Lotus7AZ Several reasons. First...the "automatics" are computer controlled and take multiple inputs from the engine to determine shifting and torque converter status. Secondly, the strength of the automatics is marginal at best, so the V8 would likely do damage. Third...the torque converter and torque vectoring of the stock transaxle is set to a MUCH lower overall torque value at idle and at lower RPM's that even if you were to get the computers to talk to each other, the shift points and stall speed vectoring would be completely wrong and make the car basically undriveable. Lastly, the gear ratios are rather short for the V8 which would not be that rewarding on long drives. So, in a nut shell, regardless of who might or might not make an adapter, it's not likely going to be a good conversion anyway after solving all the issues along the journey.

I don't know which ones, but I have customers that have located friends with remote places in the Sierras, in the Northern Coastal Redwoods, and in the deserts that have registered their cars there and have no emissions testing. The screwy thing is, a 430HP LS3 ERod V8 from GM Performance burns cleaner than a 2005 Toyota Prius. So, if you install an ERod in your 2000 Boxster S, you will be cleaning the air...BUT...it's not legal. Hence one of the biggest reasons why we left the state.
