Ngl the idea of using Pigeons on the sea does sound interesting on paper the main problem with it is really human error

Growing up around pigeons my whole life with my dad and all three uncles being fanciers I never got why people hate on pigeons so much. They're some of the cleanest animals around- they love bathing, they spend 1/3 of the day cleaning themselves and one of the ways pigeons in pairs show affection to one another is by prooning their partner's feathers making sure they're clean, healthy and happy. Pigeons are incredibly intelligent. They respond to their names when called, they can be taught to do tricks, they recognize faces... And there are some amazingly beautiful breeds. Look up Lucerne, Ice and Fairy Swallow pigeons and tell me they aren't beautiful.

I'm from an area where our dominant bird are seagulls and I'd happily take pigeons over those winged demons any day. Pigeons are at least cute. Seagulls are hideous and will dive bomb you if they think they will get food out of the deal.

The most I see pigeons is when I go into town...they are usually scrounging for food in the local Walmart parking lot with finches and seagulls...there is a couple of parks near said Walmart and one of which has a VERY large lake, so the gulls come from there. I've seen a Mourning Dove a.k.a Turtledove a.k.a Rain Dove only once on my property...after some rain funnily enough, but we got lots of chicken hawks around where I live so you don't see to many flying around.

As a kid, I used to be afraid of pigeons because my mom would crack jokes about them eating me because I was as white as bread. Now I'm no longer scared of them, and I roll my eyes whenever my Mom brings it up. Literally, I am not scared of any animal, at least not to the point of having a phobia. I actually have a phobia of needles, but I'm not afraid of any of the animals that people are typically scared of: spiders, snakes, rats, etc. In fact, in the future, I plan to become a pet rat owner.

Spiders I'm only afraid of touching them or them getting near me I can look at pics or videos of them and be unphased like some people's phobias like Nick on the Renegade channel here for example makes him have a panic attack when he sees a picture or video of a shark like I would understand having a panic attack if he was in the water with them so technically he's afraid of ink on paper or a screen so it's some Mental Asylum stuff imo

You should be wary of rats. Not because they are bad pets at all, they are great, but their incredibly short lifespan means they die very fast even with expert care and it is sad to see a close companion expire so quickly.

Humans really did Pigeons dirty. One of the most infamous moments was the fate of the Passenger Pigeon. The Passenger Pigeon was a pigeon that lived in North America. At one point, the Passenger Pigeon population was around 3-5 billion. For reference, there were more Passenger Pigeons than humans on the planet. However, during the 1800’s, mass hunting sprees by both the Native Americans and United States citizens caused their numbers to plummet to near extinction within the span of a century. By 1914, the last documented Passenger Pigeon died and the species has been labeled as “extinct” ever since. There are claims of some sightings, but the fact that one of the most populous birds on the planet got merked within a century just goes to show how dirty pigeons were done in.
