As a Catholic, the theology in the show is so bad it's legit funny. I'm tempted to believe they did that on purpose. Like the whole idea of Judas Priests is wack, and then the dynamic between protestants and catholics is so stupid and yet so funny. It's like Fate, it's not a show you watch for historical or factual accuracy, you watch it cause its fun.

Actually that has happened in history, where Antipopes were declared and were often used to try and contol the Catholic world. The main reason the crusades even occurred was because Pope Urban had been kicked out of Rome by the Holy Roman Empire's antipope and wanted to unite all of chirstianity against a common foe instead of watching them fight each other. There are still antipopes today, but most are just cult leaders that dont get noticed outside their own countries.

Let's be 100% honest here: What happens in the next episode is going to be the true test of TFS as to how they are going to approach THAT SCENE! It isn't like we can just walk past it considering just how much time that is actually devoted to this scene. The question is just how much are we actually going to devote to it if they actually do? Either way, when the next episode drops, that is going to be the most interesting episode of them all (right next to seeing Vegeta getting his shit wrecked in the next episode).

Again, it is horrible, but considering how much time is devoted to it and is basically what we have to put up with before she loses one handed, it is something that can't be overlooked. Of course though that scene will be what will set TFS's name down if they can pull it off. Mind you they already have DBZA and their other small projects, but how does one approach not only something as mature as Hellsing, let alone to make a joke about it? ... Of course though... they could do what they did with History of Trunks and make it so that when you get to the dramatic point, you play it out as it was originally intended without trying to make a joke out of it. Not to say they should do the same with the raping of a corpse, but considering how they already doubled down on the whole "Fuck the guy in the Vatican, I'm the Fucking Pope now!" speech they did at the end of this episode, one does have to wonder what is going to happen. The joys of keeping your audience guessing.
