When I was in high school I took a class I forget what it was I wanna say economics but I had 2 classes back to back in this same room I think (It's been almost a decade I have forgotten all but the most important memories from school) Anyway what we did was we would watch this news channel and later be asked 5 random questions about what we heard on it. Don't ask me why there was context but i've long forgotten it. And one day one of the news things we saw happened to be the very day the whole redskins name change drama was going on. One of the questions we got asked was should their name be changed. My answer was no. And I was later asked why I think that. "Considering it's offensive." Like .... bruh they said IN THE NEWS WE WATCHED they didn't even CARE. If they don't care. WHY SHOULD WE?! It's a name. A name that literally NO ONE has considered offensive until the coach decided it would be. I'm not gonna get into politics or anything, but for whatever context it matters. I'm a conservative Christian. But regardless of that I am so sick of this movement lately where people are trying to tell us what we should and shouldn't be offended by or what we should think. ... It's just ridiculous. Let people think for themselves. Have their own opinions. And do some critical thinking. God gave us brains and common sense. USE THEM! Having a disagreement is fine. I respect other people's opinions. And I don't try to force my own down other people's throats. We can debate about it. And I might even agree depending on how it's put. But people are allowed to have their own, and unchangeable opinion.

Gonzales" Basically, a woman had a protective order against her violently abusive husband preventing him from visiting her or their 4 kids except during the scheduled visitation, he showed up, grabbed their 3 daughters and took them away, she called the police, they did nothing because "he's their father". Hours later said guy dies in a shootout with the cops and they find the bodies of the girls in the backseat. Supreme Court stated that the police "have no legal obligation to enforce a protective order"

12:10 That looks like Australia to me. I know it's different state-by-state down here, but most rules for use of a phone in a car state that if a car is *running*, that's fineable. Or I think something about being in a position of control in the car aka the drivers seat. It's been a year or so since I've read the exact rules/laws on it. That does include being stationary at a red light. Quite amusing to see irl or on dashcams, people oblivious to the cop on a motorcycle that's pulled up beside them, just sitting and waiting for the driver to notice. I mentioned the State-By-State part because an old co-worker was on the phone at a red light, I told him not to do that, and he said because he has a licence from a different state, he followed that states rules, not the rules of the state he was currently in (which is the stupidest bs I'd heard in a while.) Extra concerning given we were in a road safety career.

From what i read about tickets and cell phones, at least in California, as long as you are safely parked with the engine OFF, then you should be fine. But i can see if it was still running, even if in a car line, then maybe? But yeah, if i was say in a micky d's drive thru, and i got a ticket for using my cell phone, then id be seriously annoyed. But i guess it depends on the state

I always had a view on the name Redskins that was like this: is it the best name for the people it’s supposed to represent- not really. Is it acceptable culturally- sort of. Do I mind? I’d rather it be more culturally tied to the Indian tribes that were from Maryland, Delaware, DC area, and the Southern portions of the northern states surrounding DC. Dan Snyder ruined the Washington franchise pretty much the instant he got a hold of it and is the sole reason the rebrand they got was completely mismanaged. The logo of the Redskins itself is the only thing I didn’t agree with because it was generic and bland looking. Indian tribes pride their artistic heritage to keep their culture alive and just having a plain looking head with a somber expression just never sat right with me.

Don't know if this counts as I am a total piece of shit story, but 2 months ago, the winnipeg police department setup these ticket traps all over the city essentially a cop car is parked on the side of the road with a gas nosel hanging of the car like it's been ripped off the pump. and when someone pulls up to let them know of the nosel they get handed a 200 dollar ticket for impeading traffic.
