With Angel Dust, his spider body is because he was born into the mafia (hence the tommy gun, baseball bat and even the duds he gets for Alastor's musical number) but was definitely not the favorite, and his entire family gets spider bodies because "web of crime". Even his sister, who according to Vivzie herself did not even get sent to Hell.

I love the world they've set up with Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. And both shows have a different tone. Hazbin Hotel is a more dramatic story with comedic elements, while Helluva Boss is straight up dark comedy. Both are really good, and different from one another to make them each stand alone.

I don't mind the new voice, but speaking as someone who's lived in the south my whole life, I think accent is pretty heavily exaggerated. I mean compared to her, Sandy Cheeks might as well be speaking the Queen's English. I'm not saying that nobody sounds like that, but it's rare enough that you can tell that she was probably told to do a typical southern accent and went pretty ham with it. Interestingly, the actress is apparently from Miami so she could believably have a real, more subdued southern accent naturally, though that's still more typical of the central southern states. Honestly though, I'm more concerned about Stolas' voice. The pilot's version sounded so much more appropriately menacing for a dark lord of the underworld, especially when he started getting freaky. It's kinda like going from Scar to Prince John from Disney's Robin Hood, the new one just sounds kinda prissy and non-threatening.

Oh to answer your question how the rules work,there are sinners and then there are demons these are two separate entities. Demons are things like The imps, hellhounds, Stolas, and people like charlie and such. Demons were born in hell and were never human they just are the inhabitants of hell. Sinners on the other hand are people like Mrs Mayberry and the rest of the people we met, from what I understand depending on your sins in life when you die and go to hell you take a form that reflects your life. Perfect example is angel dust who was a gangster in life and was also gay so as a result his form reflects that which is the reason why he's a spider and feminine in nature. From what I understand the more severe your sins the more your form is distorted, Mrs Mayberry only really ever committed that one major sin in her life so therefore she still looks a lot like her mortal self.

A24 is the production company that took on Hazbin Hotel. Not Time Warner. But I am actually excited for this company. They are notorious for creative freedom, and they put out some great movies/shows. My favorite being the movie "Ex Machina". This may be their first animated series, but they have a strong backing as a good company so far. I can't wait to see what is the end product! As for Helluva Boss, they did great. I hope a new episode comes out every few months. I am sad on the 2 voice changes, but these things happen. I love she kept the style for all of this.
