I have a coworker who LOVES Disney SW. And he saw the OG films in theaters. Just a weird cat. He even said Acolyte ep 3 was 'not that bad' and that he kinda likes the 'thread' stuff. Today, he straight up told me he no longer recommends the show, and that it's just a "terrible time". I find his critique pretty telling since he worships at the house of mouse, but he said when it was said and done, he hates how they portray the Jedi, that Jedi should stand for heroism, doing the right thing, and empowerment. It's telling how a real life Disney SW lover told me to skip this show, and his line in the sand was Jedi being shown as dumb, obsessed, morally weak idiots. I also had a random guy in a ChickFilA drive through window tell me he didn't like the show. (I had a SW shirt on) Just strange how this show is even losing the ones that stuck around after TLJ.

What was spent on this product is not shown in the latest product offered, there is an egregious lack of "value" that should definitely be perceived in this product for amount of money spent. What this looks like to me is money laundering or filling the pockets of valueless hacks that depend upon nepotism to retain their luxurious lifestyles and to the direct harm of those lending such funds. The Acolyte is utter crap but there is one mistake I keep seeing made by critics. In Episode 1 when Ki-adi-Mundi says impossible the Sith have been extinct for a millennium he is actually wrong and this scene shows that the Jedi have been blinded by the dark side. Darth Bane was the Sith Lord who created the Rule of Two because the Sith would spend more time fighting each other than the Jedi, so he killed all the other Sith and went into hiding. So there were always Sith they were just in hiding, they would kill Jedi if necessary to stay hidden or advance their schemes. They definitely wouldn't tell the Jedi they are Sith and let them go.

I have not seen Acolyte, but have seen all the Star Wars films and recent TV series, which generally apart from The Mandalorian fast forwarded much of them. I am an old geezer 71 years old, thus I do not understand the jargon and humour of the young BUT after only14.29mins of watching this video I have not stop LAUGHING at how bad the Acolyte was, which rarely happens now when watching any so-called comedy TV and Films. And I have not just been laughing at the wise cracks by the Nerdrotic but watching the actual scenes without any wise cracks over the top, such as the 'Thread' with the Witches. So much of this series is embarrassing, amateurish and beyond belief was put out for distribution for the main purpose of making money. I will say this KZbin and keep for when I am down and want a good laugh.

The promotion on the ACOLYTE was fukin crazy. I dunno about other countries, but in Australia there were so many ACOLYTE billboards and posters on buses n shit. Way more than I've ever seen for any other Disney plus star wars show, like way way more. I dunno why but they were really desperate for this show to succeed and reality is it was an absolute piece of garbage. The characters,pretty much all were so stupidly written. OSHA and Mae both flip flopped between good and evil so often and without any actual reasoning it was a joke. Venestra was creepily weird with that strange unblinking stare(massive serial killer/stalker vibez) The jedi bar maybe Jecki were all totally un jedi like. Even Qamir and Sol who both were played well by the actors had their characters destroyed towards the end. Sol becomes much more dark and selfish than he ever showed and Qamir the opposite, turns from killing 5 or 6 Jedi ruthlessly to becoming a caring (nice guy) to OSHA n Mae. We are so lucky this show has been cancelled, if that lady (Leslie whatever) had another season she seriously could of done a lot of irreversible damage to SW CANON, especially after she copped a lot of crap for how bad her show was. She may of just destroyed Plaguises story and character just to piss everyone off. Even if she was trying to make something good we're so lucky. How does Sol know that Mae started the fire? 2. How are multiple characters able to continuously scale a mountain cliff with ease in almost no time? (Was it even necessary to make the characters do something so outrageous?) 3. Did Smilo Ren just “fly” to the top of the mountain? 4. How did the elevator work if the entire energy system exploded in the fire? 5. How did the Senator know about the investigation? Who told him? And then who else knew (and yet the case is still supposedly hush-hush such that the High Council didn’t know)? 6. If the goal of the show is create moral relativism and redeem Mae such that the fire was an “accident,” are we going to forget that moments before she literally said, “I’ll kill you?”
