I threatened to run away when I was 8-9, when I was upset over something or other, I don’t remember what. My older sister (who was in her mid-20’s) decided to say “Alright, BET.” and threw some of my clothes into a small suitcase, put me into a car, drove out into the middle of nowhere on some backroads (We lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so backroads means DIRT roads in deep woods), told me to get out of the car and drove off. She eventually came back for me, I don’t know how long until she did because I was basically sobbing while trudging along the road thinking I’d been abandoned, and said, “If you threaten to do something like that then you better commit, boyo. You’re not gonna run down the road to a friend’s house and play videogames all day while the rest of us are worrying ourselves sick about you.” Nice “lesson” except it was BS. I’ve learned in the years since then that she and the rest of my family were HORRIFICALLY toxic, and the “proper” lesson from that was “If I disappear, nobody will care until they realize I’m not around to do their bitchwork anymore.” Case in point, my sister would tell that story from time to time. Laughing her ASS off 🤣, because SHE thinks stranding me out in the backwoods and making me think I had been abandoned was FUNNY…😑 Needless to say, I’ve pretty much cut off all contact with them, and while it gets lonely sometimes, I’ve been better emotionally and mentally in the last 3 years than I have been in the previous 10 years. I celebrate the day I successfully fled from that toxic shitshow, (1/21/2020) like it was my goddamn birthday.

13:24 for context I live in NC so that was pretty much my life, I'd spend the weekend with my cousins up in the country and we'd stay outside from sunrise till sunset unless my grandma called us in for lunch or something. Good memories

Since you lot seem to be watching a lot more story time animators than usual, might I suggest Sgt Ducky? His video on his first car is absolutely hilarious.

I tried to runaway once and told my dad I was going to and he freaked out and chucked me at a wall (I was probably upper elementary age).
