At this point it really feels like we’re making changes and decisions that don’t really help but just makes us feel better. The straw situation is a really good example. I heard that the manufacturing process of the paper straws is such that it adds more pollution to the environment than the plastic ones. I don’t remember if it’s because of a chemical they use or because it requires more energy to create them. So not only do they suck to use but are actually worse for the environment.
