just for the record letting the opponent get stronger isn't a vegeta thing, it's a saiyan thing. takes a lot to overcome that instinct... vegeta manages it, goku actually never does. Likely the instinct comes from their tendency to power up so much after tasting defeat, that means the greatest thing that can ever happen for their personal power, is encountering an opponent that can wipe the floor with them.... so it's a urge at an instinctual level to strive to have those insanely strong opponents.

What I liked about Cell was that he was sporty. Even when he achieved his perfect form. He was thriving for an opportunity to test his new strength. So then Cell is all like, "I'm impressed with how strong you got. Tell ya what, I'll give you all 10 days to train and then you can all challenge me for your survival" He then proceeds to make a tournament stage and patiently waits for everyone, keeping to his word. Even though Cell was a killer who threatened to destroy the planet, at least he had good sportsmanship.

+Yunus Ahmed Just so you know (quite allot of Spoilers here), Super Saiyan is achieved from a need, not wanting it, so when Vegeta was protecting his ship from meteors while training (The only explanation that we have of Vegeta going Super Saiyan) he gave up on becoming a Super Saiyan and set his pride aside since there was a huge meteor that he couldn't destroy and the ship was the only way that he could get back to Earth, he 'needed' to protect the ship because he 'needed' to defeat and surpass Goku, so when he tried to destroy the meteor (for the second time) he turned Super Saiyan and destroyed it. Now, Goku 'needed' Super Saiyan to kill Frieza and save the others, that Super Saiyan was awakened by rage and need. Gohan felt rage cuz of thinking of how many people died at the hands of Cell that he couldn't defeat at the time, he thought of the fact that he wasn't strong enough to defeat Cell and protect those people, he 'needed' Super Saiyan. Now, for Future Trunks, his Super Saiyan was awakened for the same reason that Goku's was, he 'needed' it to stand a chance against the Androids and it was awakened by need and rage over Future Gohan's death. Though I can't explain Goten and Trunks going SSJ, I can say that SSJ is awakened at a Saiyan's peak in power, just as Goku wasn't strong enough to kill Frieza, Vegeta wasn't strong enough to protect his ship, Gohan wasn't strong enough to defeat Cell (may I remind you that Gohan barely had an image of Cell at the time), and Future Trunks wasn't strong enough to stand a chance against the Androids, they were all at their peak and needed to have SSJ.

they are both Super Saiyan God, both red and blue, SSGSS was an Internet made name and not the official name for the form. both forms are the same but the blue SSG is just Goku achieving that form on his own.

Didn't Frieza conquered many MANY planet's and obliterated many of them too. PS. ...found out this too just now... "He rules a vast empire that has control over what has been said to be at least 79 planets up until his death according to the original manga, and later in Resurrection ‘F’ it is mentioned that he has at least 448 planets" ..sooooooo, yeah... he did a LOT more then Cell. I mean Cell ate a few cities and obliterated some islands, Buu is also like that, cause he was stopped after he was born, and Frieza? He owned planets after planets + blew some of them too, like the Namek, the Saiyan planet (well at least seen from the show)

Frieza is worse in my opinion. Cell was designed to kill, and it was basically whispered into his ear from the day of his creation over and over "Kill Goku." Frieza just killed for the hell of it. He enjoyed it when people suffered and died. He destroyed whole civilizations when he wanted to have some fun. He was truly evil.

He treated Future Trunks like crap, and only ever cared about how strong kid Trunks was. Up until his death in the Majin Buu saga, Vegeta had never hugged his own son, who was eight or nine at the time. Yeah, sounds like a healthy family situation right there.

The only time Vegeta spent with with kid Trunks was training, which you could reason is his version of quality time, but still not a great way to raise a kid. All Vegeta cared about was how strong Trunks was, if he was weak he wouldn't have given his own son the time of day.

Hollowtiger21 Didn't seem to be the case with Bulla. And you have to take into account that Vegeta ISN'T HUMAN. He was raised in a very different society with different standards. And beyond that, he was raised Royalty. That's a whole new can of worms. By his standards, he probably wasn't even all that strict with Trunks.
