This is a fairly old video by now but I've got to tell you that there is a cut song from the movie called "Biggering". It was replaced with "How Bad Could I Be", and I hate Illumination for cutting it. Its the best song that they made and it seems to fit the original theme of the Lorax so well.

I actually really liked a song that never made it to the final cut called “ Biggering” It was way more somber and darker than the song they used in the movie. Also I find the best thing that came from this movie actually was the wellspring of ideas that the fandom created afterwards. So many good stories and AUs were made. So it’s funny to know that fans created better stories than the movie writers themselves.

Your speech about forming a bubble hit me hard. I'm an introvert; I hate being in crowds and I hate noise. I can't tell when people are joking. Years later, I would get bitter about the times my friends manipulated me. As a teenager, I was frustrated with school, afraid of my future, and miserable about my classes. I have many regrets about high school. I felt like I was meant to be alone. I struggled with finding myself. I was even more miserable in my one year of college. The classes frustrated me even more. I made friends, only to get so miserable about not graduating the program that I deleted their contact information and never spoke to them again. These days, I'm frustrated that I have trouble talking to people. All I have is online friends and my own writing, which I post.

I agree with what the Critic said about fads, they ARE stupid. Like the current dark and bloody fad Marvel and DC are in with their movies and shows. When we, the viewers, say we want mature films. We mean we want films with deep stories, meaningful lessons, believable drama and small doses of charm. The short film version of The Lorax did this splendidly and it was made AGES AGO

Captain America: Civil War and Infinity War come to mind, in terms of grittiness. But I guess, what I MEANT was that we're currently stuck in a superhero fad. Almost every other movie coming out to theaters has been based on a Marvel or DC property. At first, this was a cool idea and it brought us many great movies. But after so many years, the whole fad is starting to lose its luster. I for one am getting sick of all these Marvel or DC movies coming out. Particularly because they change some of the heroes in the worst kind of ways. Making Thor a prince from an alien planet? Changing Peter Quill's awesome descended from royalty storyline to him being the son of Ego, the Living Planet, making Thanos like a sort of "sympathetic" villain. Don't even get me started on what DC has been doing. The point is...people are beginning to not care as much about superhero movies anymore. I for one want the fantasy genre to make a comeback to theaters. Swords & sorcery, high adventure, mythical creatures, noble heroes; THAT stuff is cool. Unlike short-hair Thor and nice guy Thanos

I feel like pointing out a small, but important nonetheless, detail as to why they added in a clear villain. It isn’t because HE caused the issues of pollution, it’s because he’s preventing those issues from being dealt with. He’s supposed to represent people that go out of their way to deny the impact we have on our planet and the fact that we are slowly killing it. The message from the original is still there, they just added a new one that speaks to modern day. Because on the TV, the radio and in social media you’ll see these kinds of people who are actively trying to stamp out others efforts to help the planet. That’s why the present and past are show as being two stories. Once about the fact that anyone can make a mistake and not realize the consequences of it, the other about people who take advantage of that consequence and actively abuse it and sustain it for personal gain. Just a personal thought I felt like sharing despite this reaction being old as hell.

There is one point in this review that, while very brief, I do need to address. The film's director had nothing to do with those commercials he brings up, most notably the 'hypocritical' car ad. A little known fact is that directors typically have little to no say in how their films are advertised. I'm just saying it's a little unfair for so many people to use that as a point against the film.

I still see this as the WORST of the Seuss adaptations. Worse than Cat in the Hat. Cat in the Hat is a monstrously bad, unfunny movie; but it kept to its message. "Sometimes a little fun and rule-breaking is okay, as long as it doesn't go too far". It doesn't contradict itself; but pads itself with unfunny sketches and unneeded adult-jokes The Lorax fucks up its own message from the word, go. It claims to be about saving the trees; but everything about this movie contradicts that.
something that always bothered me even in the original tale and cartoon was the guys excuses, the lorax comes to him time and again warning him and showing him the damage he's causing, he makes an excuse, after excuse, what about my workers and their families. The lorax claims he doesn't have an answer but at the end the last tree falls anyway and the business died all the excuses meant nothing he doomed both nature and the people. Just a fool making excuses and ignoring the problems and the many solutions to them

Although I’d say the Charle and the Chocolate factory was an obviously worse film than Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Charle’s was an objectively better retelling of book by Roald Dahl. So when it comes to Hollywood bastardizing a book, Willy Wonka is the one bastardizing the book, like they didn’t even use the same name as the book and changed it, which is the most Hollywood thing ever, like Roald Dahl himself didn’t like the movie at all, it grew on him a bit later noting it having some “good qualities” but he still “didn’t like it”, mostly because he wrote a 300 page script for them and they basically ignored it and his recommendations. While with Charle, the directors asked for his family’s input with every step of the film, as to not get it wrong and be respectful to the source material.
@diminie_chimket Жыл бұрын
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is obviously worse? No it isn't, not for me and a lot of other people. I'd say, just cus you don't like the movie, doesn't mean that it's a bad movie. That's just rude to the people who like it, like me.

Look up the song “biggering.” It’s the beta version of “How Bad can I Be?” And it’s a lot better. Would it have saved the movie? Hell no! But it would’ve saved the Oncler as a character. Instead of being dated hipster vomit the song would’ve made him human.
