To be fair, the soldier did a spy check on the blue spy and game physics apparently didn't apply because he is super dead, and when the heavy charged the door, he didn't pass through either the soldier or the scout, so that apparently wouldn't work either. Really there was nothing they could do.

The up-side of picking a Scout disguise is the way the Scout himself stands. The Scout has an overall lower stance than the Spy, making it easier for the Spy to hide somewhere and it confuses enemies trying to hit him, as the disguises don't change the hitboxes. One might try to go for a headshot on the Scout disguise, but the Spy will actually get hit in the torso rather than the head.

fun fact from me as the spy: I was playing a match as a spy. I wasn't amazing at it, but I managed to be the sniper the longest I've ever been. I made a bon with another sniper because I didn't wish to get caught. I kept following him until I had the right moment and actually stabbed him in the back. That shows you can't trust anyone in tf2 when a spy is around.
