The "Rod from God" is still a valid concept, though the only place I've seen it brought to "reality" is the CoD: Ghosts opening mission with the Orbital Defense Initiative (ODIN) that starts off the whole thing.

And as "A concept" its also completely legal in space as it hasn't ever officially been classified as a WMD. The #1 limiting factor in making a Kinetic Energy Bombardment weapon system is weight. Even just a single shot WITHOUT any R&D or an expensive guidance system to make sure it's going where it's supposed to. A telephone pole of one of the densest metals avaliable besides something like Depleted Uranium, is going to be thousands of if not tens of thousands of pounds, and space missions are literally priced by weight. IIRC last time I checked the going rate was $60,000 per pound, for any Orbital or suborbital payload requiring a launch by rocket to get that high, which is why saving weight is key for any payload, and things like "saving a few pounds" with titanium are key aspects of anything going to space; titanium IS NOT STRONGER THAN STEEL, they're actually about the same strength, however since it's lighter you can use more of it for the same weight which is where the misconception people have comes from. And while powerful, they'd only be a couple kt in comparison to nukes and require multiple rounds per city to guarantee sufficient damage and destruction.

M32 (Milkor MGL) is revolver type granade launcher developed in 1980. The Thumper is M79 grenade launcher designed in 1953 and calling it a single shot version of M32 is like calling Springfield 1903 a bolt-action version of M16.

With all the zombie games we have now, I’m surprised there isn’t a zombie game where you play as the zombies and try to infect the whole world. In fact, why not a game where you literally can switch between first zombie person and controlling an entire horde? How cool would it be to lay siege to human fortresses or slowly build up the infection body count? I would play that game!

Tungsten isn't actually particularly hard. It's the fact that it can withstand 3000+ degrees Celsius heat before changing states from solid to liquid. A steel or titanium rod would have a significant chunk of its mass burned away before impact.

All I know is that each rod would need a rocket booster to ensure it entered at Mach speeds and continued going faster from there, up until it touches down and makes the surrounding earth act like a frozen lake that just had a firecracker go off under the ice.

Yeah, that kinetic rod from Space is probably a thing, it was the catalyst in that one CoD(i think Ghosts)where you fight other PMCs in space. But the takeaway is that nations cannot occupy Space with any type of Ordinance that isn't purely kinetic, by either Areospace doctrine or the Geneva Convention...I haven't looked into it since then XD
