Renesans Polska Half Pans Watercolor set review & Art Haul unboxing.

Hello Friends!
My name is Elisabetta and I'm an Italian watercolor artist with a passion for art supplies.
I recently visited Fabriano in Acquarello 2023, the huge annual watercolor conference in Bologna (an incredible day I spent with ‪@laurartetorino‬, a great watercolor artist from my city Turin) where I have met the lovely people from Renesans Polska, a high quality art supplies manufacturer based in Poland. I was introduced to them by my artist friend Eleonora ‪@elsewatercolors‬ . Such a great art community I have here in Italy!
Renesans Polska so kind to send me a whole box full of art supplies to test and review! I was in heaven!
Today I will unbox the package with you and I will also swatch and review the beautiful watercolor 24 half pans set from their range.

What a generous package 📦 from Renesans. Thank you for these first impressions. I have some tubes, where there was binder separation. I poured them on to half pans and they dried well. I will buy pans rather than tubes in the future. Their pigment choices have some rare colours worth exploring. I look forward to seeing what you paint with them. Thanks again

Thank to you! Renesans are very fine paint. I find that paint that contains honey tend to separate more…but it’s no big of a deal.

That's a lovely advanced swatch! When you swatched the cadmium red deep, I immediately thought of Volcano red as well.

Thank you for your review. I watched the frugal crafter, and ordered paint when i found them in Australia. They are very affordable. Lindsay recommended some tubes over the pans and vice versa. Yes i found some of the pigments and blends very unique. This review reminds me to get them out of the draw and use them.. thanks for your review, and what a lovely gift thanks Renesans.

Absolutely not my type of colors but I would Love to buy it! I need to try new colors to get out of my comfort zone and these look so nice. And I loved your painting and loved watching the process of it 😍

@@WatercolorElisabetta I must have dioxazine violet, ultramarine blue, pv19, any punchy bright reds, a black and a bright green gold as a substitute for yellow. I like dark vibrant colors so this set would be a nice change for me 😊

WOW! Just found an Etsy shop selling these(in the US!)..they’re almost as cheap as Rosa’s or white nights! Just put 2 tubes in my cart…depending on how much my daughter’s “goody box” I’m sending her pushes me back…hopefully, I can get them in a few days!

Unsure why comments are disappearing..can you please check and see if that PR108 is number 22 or number 20. Your swatch looks nothing like the cad red deep swatch by that seller..it looks more like the cad Bordeaux, number 22? I can’t get her to respond to my question. Liz and my daughter want me to make some pans of my mixes..but I only have a tube of QOR’s PR108 and it’s too bright, almost orangey, to use in these mixes. I just got a new tube of py159 and DS Amethyst..again, Liz and my daughter want me to try and put mixes in pans for them. Personally, as far as painting on my own, I’m moving away from these heavily granulating and separating mixes-mainly bc of the separation. It’s just too unpredictable. Liz and my daughter do a lot of very loose and abstract work..so they are in heaven.

In any case, the tube looks more like the Bordeaux….you are right. But they have completely different range and formulas…

@@WatercolorElisabetta my comments keep disappearing…I’ll split this one up. I finally had a long talk with April Mathis (who I think is now subscribed to your channel!!) last night. You’re correct, the formulations are very different. She’s sending me a tube of the Cadmium Bordeaux that she feels is closest, if not the same, as the pan of cad red deep. She feels it’s the same hue as volcano red that I had been using. I specifically wanted the tube so I can make some mixes for Liz and my daughter…AND I ordered a few other tubes!

Wow, who’s a lucky woman then?? 😁 They outdid themselves with the number, and variety of colours. I recently purchased quiet a few tubes, but as yet (and typical of me), I am yet to open them. I will look forward with interest to the tube/pan comparison. It will be interesting to see how many tube colours I have that match yours. Are any of your tube colours the same as any of the pans? That would be a great side by side comparison. You now have me wondering if I will have to work from the tube rather than dry in a pan… 🤔❤️🎨🖌👩🏻‍🎨👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

Oooohh…I like that cad red deep! I made some mixes last week..trying to make a cool gray..and my friend Liz wanted some non-opaque grayish tones of green, blue and a blue-green…without using black or white. I finally succeeded..using DS semi-opaque PY53, PB29 and a touch of PR108, specifically Volcano Red! My daughter wants me to start making paint.. I just ordered some magnesium blue PB33 pigment..enough to try and make 2 small batches because I want to TRY and make a batch with my Chinese binders. The western..a friend I usually buy handmade paints from is sending me a small bottle of her handmade binder. Liz has some Aquarelle (QOR) she thinks I should use instead… I haven’t decided.. Liz feels like such a rare pigment deserves the aquarelle binder….but I have a very large full pan of PO49 that Kourtney made with her binder..and it’s stunning, so….we’ll see. 😁. Feel free to give me your opinion!

I have never tried making my own Watercolor paint!! I encourage you test different methods, this is what I would do ❤️

Look at those brochures. Their pans and tubes are different and they have brochures for each. Were your pans all pretty full? Mine were not and a lot were only half full

Sì, è una combinazione di colori insolita. Così insolita che mi piacerebbe averla. Ma non so quali motivi si possano dipingere con essa. È così sicuro. Anche i tuoi disegni sono un po' falsi, so dove si può vedere qualcosa del genere se lo si guarda da vicino. Ora hai così tanti colori che puoi buttare via il marchio Lukas. In realtà sei un milionario del colore. Potete dipingere sulle pareti se volete. Solo che devi tappezzare le pareti con carta acquerello 😄 Che tipo di asciugacapelli hai usato? Era così veloce..... era un apparecchio speciale per dipingere?
