Sure we can clean the electronic board/circuit with soap and water. But you must unplug the power sources and remove the batteries before (like CMOS battrry on motherboard) . Finally you make sure that board already dry before reassembly.

Yes, it's fine, in fact I see professional retro repairs starting with it, But you can't vacuum components cause they are esd sensitive. He either used a special grounded vacuum or he faked it.

Slight tip: the thermal compound on the chipset heatsink can usually be softened and cleaned with Zippo lighter fluid. I've only recently found this out and it's been my method of preserving chipset/northbridge heatsinks in good condition that way.

No replaced dead swollen capacitor on the motherboard 23:35 but all painted! Shameful "restoration"! Normalli need to test and replace all electrolitic capacitors as minimum in the PSU and visual check and replase swollen capacitors on the motherboard!

Breaking the topic a bit, going through all my old drives, I found one with DOS 6.22/Win 3.11. Is there anything left that can run slow enough to work it properly? If I remember right it was a 486/dx4 88 processor with 2x cd rom drive and a 3.5 floppy. My first computer for college back in 1995.

Видео в принципе не фейк но ты там забыл поменять один "незаметный конденсатор" на материнской плате и блок питания лучше проверить хотя-бы перемычкой чтобы хотябы запустился и не загорелся, а на счёт чистки платы водой можно мыть но только батарейку биоса отключите и высушите плату чтобы и под чипсетом воды неоставалось (можно выдуть её балончиком с воздухом и протереть окуратно) ну и сокет лучше чистить специальным растворителем, потому что кисточкой можно случайно повредить ножки сокета, поэтому чистка сокета это отдельная тема, а ещё лучше спиртом все это промывать чтобы точно проблем невозникло, ну а в остальном всё хорошо респект

Aaaaaand, after 12 hours of installation, the Win 10 is there and activated. Never mind that it's barely running itself with app. 85% of memory usage. C2D and 2 GB of DDR2 just can't do anything. Yap, it will run Win 10 but only that. That's not even enough for Win 7. Not to mention opening a browser and trying to open YT. Though, this would be a great machine with 2 more gigs of RAM (cuz integrated graphics), maybe a discrete graphic card, installed XP for some retro gaming.

Add 2GB more RAM to 4GB for max memory of DDR2 with 2 slots ram. Change to an SSD for system. And it safe opening YT... C2D is still usable for browsing... But because C2Q is cheap now it would be better using it with 4 slots ram mobo which max to 8 GB... I've been using it with win 10 ltsc for coding and server (always wake) for my store. SSD is the lifesaver for my PC & laptop. XD. But minimal spec I've bought is C2D & i3 and avoid under it and low frequency processor for laptop. It so struggle for browsing / YT although using SSD...

There is never a good reason to have that much organic matter in your PC. The painted case sides came out nice on camera, maybe a few more hours on the front panel with some more peroxide? How long in all did it take, and what is the CPU?

You can clean electronics with tap water, you just need to dry them off quickly. What causes damage is not the water it is the minerals in the water which cause damage to traces on boards.

They still make perfectly fine pcs as long as you are not doing something very processor or memory intensive. They are perfect for childrens first computers or home theatre pcs. Many businesses are still running similar machines with Win7.

That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard, the inside is filthy, cleaning it this good makes it a museum accepted to show people piece lf technology, donating this to a museum could show kids how the Internet once was, it could be on the hallway line of computers evolution when they get to see donated computers evolution, so to preserve it’s quality i the beet way we can, we’d rid the world of more mold, dust, crumbs, spiders, bats, ants, abandoned house materials. By restoring this computer, we’re also turning it on again, if not letting technology remain dead, by upgrading it’s system to windows 10 and such, it’s worth more now to the world and would be to many deemed eligible for use once again since we’re also cleaning up software by removing Internet Explorer, Flash Player, Shockwave Player, Java games, we’re reporting fraudulent websites to the official sites and scammer hackers are being stripped of their money by professionals, then their also getting them arrested By turning this computer back on, we’re turning back on lights, we’re making the Earth have 1 more working device if not throwing it away to see one day a crusher at the dump is crushing it with many other things as well. One more thing to note is that with Windows 10 updates, in these times they’re making the updates have to do with removing Internet Explorer completely so that China, Russia can’t hack peoples computers anymore within 1 certain way cause theres a lot of computers still today that are able to get hacked, so to use those updates, we’re making them no longer vulnerable with made safer technology, software updates are being checked for the slightest inconsistencies to lock out hackers slightest chances to hack anything and anyone anywhere and at all ever again. Cleaning it means the area is cleaner, the people will not be exposed to mold one day, dust won’t make them cough or sneeze, they’ll have a better look at the screen and not think its to blurry to see and watch videos as well.
