I thought the same,, when a mining company wants to expand or other developments there is an outcry from Aboriginal activists,,, but nothing from them as Labor carves up the country side and coast lines with turbines and transmission lines,,,, have they been paid off by Alboslezy??

They get royalties which were agreed to prior starting this. It's all about money, and how much they can get, not preserving the land.

The Coppers Basin wind farm in the South Burnett owned by the Queensland Government is a case in point. When the wind farm closes it is the responsibility of the landowners to remove the towers and restore the site. Not the energy company or rather Stanmore Corp which is part of the Queensland government . This information came from someone involved in the construction. How will landholders ever afford or be capable of removing the wind towers, concrete pads they're built on and the road network that was bulldozed through pristine bushland?

Of course it is. I'm delusional because the Queensland government would never consider building something like 150 wind turbines along that pristine ridge line about 200 ks from the Brisbane CBD. They would have to consult with the traditional owners who would never agree and the environmental groups furore would have surpassed the Franklin dam in Tasmania. Perhaps I miss spelt something or forgot to dot an i. Would you like a photo of it? I live in the closest major rural town and I knew nothing about it until I stumbled across it.

We need to withdraw from the Paris accord and use the most economical energy resources available. Spending hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayers money in a futile attempt to prevent small and largely beneficial changes to the Earth’s climate is lunacy.

The largely useless renewable energy equipment will soon end up in landfill. The countryside will look OK again once the rubbish is removed, however, the bad government debts from subsidising uneconomical renewable energy projects will take generations to pay off.

@@johngeier8692 It can never all be renewed, after all the damage and fires. And they plan to leave the giant bases in the ground. Imagine what it would cost to take them out, and then where would they go? And the land will be compressed and changed....all the wildlife driven away, etc. etc.

My solar panels, installed since 2010, are still functioning efficiently with minimal maintenance costs. Can anyone on the panel explain how quickly a nuclear power plant can be built? What are the costs associated with building and running one? If nuclear power is commercially and politically viable, why isn't more investment directed towards it? Moreover, where would these nuclear plants be located, and do local communities have the right to accept or reject proposed sites? Historically, coal was the cheapest energy source. However, according to the CSIRO 2022-2023 GenCost report, wind and solar remain the lowest cost new-build electricity generation sources despite inflationary pressures. If you believe that coal and nuclear power are cheaper, quicker to build, and safer to run, present your business case. Let CSIRO and the public review and comment on it. This would be far more convincing than perpetuating the misleading notion of cheap coal generation.

Please stop ranting and look at some common sense, renewables will be a problem in the future, your little solar on your house whole different beast. So you would rather destroy our land, kill our flora and fauna for what…..climate change Australia will make NO difference to climate if we shut down fossil fuel’s tomorrow. We have heaps of coal cheap and we are selling to China for fossil fuel power, how does that fi5 your little puzzle.
