This is a recording of the Renfro Valley Gatherin’ from 2002. The announcer for the program is Jim Gaskin. Singers include Susan Tomes Laws, Pam Perry Combs, Jim Gaskin. The Birthday List is read by Pete Stamper. The band is led by lead guitarist Glenn Thompson and includes versatile Jeff Watson. The original half-hour show was heard every week on stations all over America. The live show at the Valley was at Sunday mornings at 8:30 am.
This 30-minute program has been shortened to 15 minutes in order to meet video limits. This show was broadcast back on Sunday morning, 11-24-2002.

I would listen to Renfro Valley on my transistor radio late at night under the bed covers. I lived in Michigan. I dreamed of going to the valley. Just found it and can't believe it. Thanks for the post. Regards...

I do not think they feature their local shows anymore. I think they still showcase national traveling shows on their campus, but no longer feature local shows like the Gatherin', the Barn Dance, or the Jamboree. For more than 60 years, however, Renfro Valley was a true oasis of traditional American folk and country music. Thanks for your comment.
