Unfortunately things will never be completely fair. Put in the work and maybe it will even up. A better option is just to work hard at learning a skill/ability and just earn more income so you can buy what you want instead of spending hundreds of hours a year looking for a deal. Save your time/energy, let someone else do the work.

This guy has a physical and online store and he still wants these crazy prices? 50% on pricecharting for a bulk lot where you remove literally hundreds of hours of labor is very generous. Especially when you're talking about a 5 figure deal.
@kenl236710 ай бұрын

That was a really solid deal for that guy to offload his inventory in one go. After eBay fees, shipping costs, and taxes, he would have landed around $13-$13.5 anyways. Now he doesn’t have to waste any time listing, packing, shipping, cleaning, and holding inventory.
@1Readysetno10 ай бұрын
He said about a half dozen things that would have kept my offer at 5K at most. The last thing where he promised to call you first, but had already said he distributes to multiple other people was wild. I think the 13k he initially mentioned would be his exact earnings after tax, fees and shipping from eBay, but after 8 months since he’s priced high on mostly disc based games. the time on resurfacing things may make you break even. Hopefully the holiday bump makes this work out.

Thats a really fair offer I myself typically pay between 40-70% depends whats there and if its on my buy list and I'm low on I will pay a little more just to have and in the end you don't make big margins but you will always have stock so when you get asked or sold out online you always have so you don't loose that sale and even when I pay on the lower end 40% its usually mid-lower end stuff still moves but the time it takes I end up parting some at wholesale and don't make much in the end if I profit with all the work and time fees costs 10-20% I'm happy as long as I can keep stock rotating and not be under, Caleb made a more then fair offer and I agree I know tones of stores will pay 30% even on quick sellers and rare items and 9/10 they will tell people sorry sold out or I will let you know when I get it in you have to be fair with seller and let them know its not what you see in the end we both make same profit margins

A lot of mixed feelings about this clip but it's very indicative of many reseller's work. I hated the demeanor of the seller because the silence and unwillingness to be direct with where he stood on the numbers would have turned me off immediately. He told caleb he was cooking at 10 grand only to call it a frugal offer moments later and would just be dead silent when Caleb is asking him about it. On the other hand, it's good discipline on his end for him to stand firm and not bend just because he's on camera. Not everyone can stand firm when the spotlight is on them. Some people in the comments will think Caleb paid too much in terms of percentage and despite him recently talking about about not being afraid to walk away, in this quantity, there is still money to be made here. It's not like he's only making X percent of 500 dollars, He's making it on an estimated 20k (inflated by seller and amazon so probably not too far off, idk you can come to your own conclusion). Caleb could have walked away but sometimes we make the decision for the profit anyway. Either way, an accurate depiction of some common reseller interations.

People who are criticizing Caleb for how he handled this are not well educated. Paying more than 10 for this is a huge risk and is banking off future business paying more. He took so many man hours out of that guys day. Especially since he said he was already listing high and has a brick and mortar store he could have gone way lower and still made a profit. He got that product thrifting which means he got it way lower than he’s selling. The man stood on business though good for him getting his.
