Ishida is 1000% yapping to Renji to give him advice. "Our king has absorbed the soul king's powers" giving new info to the enemy. "we have the ability to drain reshi and that makes you lose your bankai" info about his abilities. Reminding them how absolutely important knowing their abilities are. He keeps telling Renji off about brute force. He's making it super clear that they aren't abilities you can just brute force (unless you're Kenpachi lmaoooo). "I hate soul reapers" maybe it's a hint at a personal beef that can be exploited. He shoots Ichigo off center knowing Orihime can save him. I'm willing to bet he did the same to Renji. All while doing it in a way that can be passed off as taunting. What a goat.

This episode topped The Betrayer as my favorite episode of the Cour so far. Renji vs. Uryu had me screaming. My boy Renji was going ham and was a problem for Uryu while he was in Vollständig. Thats very impressive. Uryu wouldn’t have won if he hadn’t used Sklaverei to enhance his abilities and if Renji wasn’t holding back like Ichigo was. Uryu, in some Batman logic, used that to his advantage. Uryu’s stocks continue to go up but Renji’s has gone up, too. Fantastic episode.

Now, lets keep in mind that Yhwach can only see the actions of people in the future, not their thoughts and intentions. So while Uryu may not be invisible to Yhwach's gaze like Mimihagi was, Yhwach technically wouldn't see Uryu's eventual double cross if it isn't something that isn't obvious... All he'd see is Uryu killing Shinigami here and there, saying very little and keeping everything in his mind, and since Yhwach can see infinite possible futures, and the fact that all possible futures are created by actions in the present, there will be futures where even Jugram betrays Yhwach but there are those where he stays loyal right? As long as Uryu creates scenarios like this one where his actions fall in line with Yhwach's cause, there will be possible futures where Uryu actually remains loyal to Yhwach. So from Yhwach perspective, Uryu is just as loyal as Jugram and just as treacherous as Jugram... Because there are infinite possible futures where he betrays him but also infinite possible futures where he remains loyal. I think that there's more to it, but this is a good enough reason why Yhwach is okay having Uryu around. This is not a spoiler btw, just my own reasoning. As for Jugram, there is a good reason for why he is on Uryu's neck all the time, watching him like a hawk... It's a spoiler (in fact two major ones) so I won't go into it here, but just know that he thinks that he is more sure of Uryu's betrayal than Yhwach currently.

I’ll say this for you without spoilers just so you kind of get an idea of what future scenes are anime only, in the manga Rukia and Soi Fon do absolutely nothing after the gate is built so any future scenes with them is anime only. Every Uryu fight so far has been anime only, majority of Squad Zero’s entire fight with the Royal Guards was anime only (in the manga they all pretty much just get 1 tapped by Lille which is why the fanbase had them on fraud watch), Ichigo vs. Yhwach in the first few eps was anime only, Ukitake’s flashbacks were anime only. Kubo was dealing with health issues and pressure from Jump to finish Bleach towards the second half of TYBW’s manga to open up a slot in Shonen Jump so the second half of the manga was kind of sloppy/rushed. Now that he’s overseeing the anime adaptation he’s pretty much been taking the anime in the direction he wanted the manga to go originally. I truly believe that if Kubo had received as much leniency from Jump as Oda and Kishimoto, then the Bleach fanbase would be as evenly large or possibly larger than the other 2 of the big 3. We’re clearly seeing the amount of hype Kubo is getting with the TYBW anime when he’s actually free to work as he pleases. This is the writing quality that Jump gate kept from us essentially.

I'm contributing to the likes for that cosplay 8:06 I gotta bring this up, and I'm pretty sure this was in one of those post-episode shorts from waaaay back when (but if not then maybe this happened in a filler arc), but my headcanon for why hanataro was brought with em wasn't just because he could heal, but because in that short/filler hanataro was able to impress zaraki with his shikai 😂 13:01 it wasn't shown properly here, but it went through his shoulder, through his chest, and out his back, maybe through the shoulder blade on the other side really damn, you the first guy I see call out the ending was backwards

Here 17:18, Renji could have easily finished Uryu off if he decided to pierce his sword (which is hidden inside the dragon’s mouth that’s holding Uryu) right through Uryu’s heart. Uryu would have been dead if Renji wanted to, but obviously he only wanted to kick his ass and bring him back.

Just pointing it out, Ishida's father shot Ishida in the chest without any fatal consequences, and Ishida didn't hit Renji with one of those super-arrows like he fired right after his volstandig activated. Renji is REALLY powerful now, and at least mid-captain level, but he just picks the worst fights. It's not a nice comparison, but it's basically the Volcano-head curse from JJK--he's broken, but his fights are with Gojo and Sukuna.

Renji v Ishida - neither of which had a presence in the manga. With none of this expansion of Ishida in the manga. He gets recruited and drinks the blood and then basicallly disappears until way later - like we still aren’t were Ishida shows back up yet. Renji is never seen after the Mask James fight. Massive glow up for Renji to have all these new anime only moves. Ishida basically had none of these abilities.

Renji in theory tried to kill Ishida (kinda..) - he used the same move that killed Mask (who didn’t block it with blute vein); that first huge explosion. Ishida blocks it with blute vein - but Masked got turned to ash. The anime has far surpassed the manga at this point. Nice that all fans get this great content and manga readers getting 10+ mins of NEW content. The way the manga had multiple issues going on by this point irl - Kobo’s 2nd chance at telling the story makes Saturday exciting for everyone.
