Darling Ren, no, you are not crazy. You are one of the sanest and most thoughtful person I have ever listened to. Like you, I have faced death squarely in the face ~ I had tuberculosis a few years ago ~ and I contemplate mortality and our exsistance here every day since my recovery. I am much older than you ~ 74 ~ but you have the most wonderful gift of being able to articulate so much of what I feel and think since my recovery. May you shine on beautiful one and continue to be well. By the way, I have been listening to Wim Mertens for about 40 years now! Much love and blessings to you xxx

Never forget that. Now my lovely you need to concentrate on saving you.

I am no one with no expertise in music, production, psychiatry, medicine, or any other field that would relate to Ren’s music. My musical interests are in, and I’m a lifelong listener of, hard, heavy and metal music like AC/DC, Metallica, Pantera and the like. But even with my lack of knowledge in areas that would assist in identifying genius in music, I can recognize standout greatness when I see it. Ren is, in my opinion (as if it carries any weight, lol), a literal genius. There is so much thought put into creating the music we get to experience in its final form. He is clearly a deeply philosophical, intellectual and introspective thinker, and I feel like he may have come to realize that what mainstream deems as being mental disorder is sometimes an elevated mental awareness, function and ability. His song, Hi REN, is so masterfully done that one experiences it rather than simply watches the video while listening to it. And I could be wrong, but I interpreted the yodel like singing in the beginning of the song as indicative of stereotypical the coo-coo sounds associated with insanity, while the use of those sounds at the end felt indicative of recognizing and accepting that expanded intellectual depth and capacity frequently go hand in hand with psychological disorders. It felt like he was knowingly harnessing and controlling the coo-coo at the end of the song. And I don’t know the first thing about playing guitar or piano, but Ren is able to make the instruments seem like they are physical extensions of his mind rather than his fingers. I can’t even explain what I mean by that other than to say- I know that music can express emotion and enhance lyrics, but it’s as if Ren’s music is imbedded in the lyrics rather than alongside the lyrics. It’s difficult for me to express how uniquely genius I believe Ren is. I feel like Ren possesses a mastery in expression that I can only describe as a one of a kind living, moving and expanding exhibit of art that will, no doubt, be documented as an influence in what is possible in future musical expression.

Feel like you may have read my mind while writing this comment. I’primarily listen to progressive metal - pain of salvation, leprous, sleep token, etc. tool was my favorite band for a lot of years. In my teens it was Alice In Chains. None of those artists hold a candle to Ren. Dude just hits me like no one ever has. I think it’s the unique entire package of everything he is and can do. Ren is a higher-dimensional guy if there ever was one, utterly raw and stripped down to who he really is by both his suffering and his creative purpose. No masks, no fear. One of my favorite bits of lyric by him is from Heretic: "Becoming evident that we make fear president. When fear trumps love, that's when the soul becomes irrelevant." I thank the Powers that be for his entrance into our lives. My life has definitely been enhanced by his example and his works of art.

I do what I need to do for these folks down on their luck( I was in similar 2015) shit happens and if not your health you get busy and rise above it and climb out. Not easy but wonderful on other side of your determination and a hand up from those with the toolkit info . Ren, I agree. Life is so ugly and warped at times. Just my opinion here. Its hard knowing people do not see LIFE in the same matter-> This is why we will always bicker. One man's trash is another man's treasure. One person might see an animal as a best friend. The other sees it as an aninal and nothing more. With these dynamics there could never be a perfect union of minds...or hearts. Be the light you want to see shine. Shine so people knows there is still light out there. Ren exemplifies that

Thank you so much for posting these .... days I'm not doing good and miss something this helps out a lot to stay up to date on what's going on in his realm ..... i hope Ren can see or understand no one I think is trying to give him any sympathy really ... but for a moment we try and share with him our Empathy and remind him he's not alone... sometimes we have to realize the difference between the two. Empathy isn’t about feeling sorry for you; it’s about understanding and sharing in what you’re going through, without judgment or superiority. It’s more like saying, “I hear you, I get how you feel, and I’m here with you.” I think people are genuinely trying to connect on that level. If it ever feels off, maybe it’s just a misunderstanding of intent rather than someone trying to show pity. I hope this makes sense, and I respect his feelings about it! 💙 It's human nature to unite in the face of existential threats because they activate our shared survival instinct. When something threatens all of humanity, our usual divisions-like politics, religion, or culture-start to feel small. These moments create a "common enemy effect," where people come together to face the bigger challenge. Historically, we've seen this during global crises like wars, pandemics, or even climate emergencies, where cooperation becomes essential for survival. The reason it takes something so drastic is that existential threats force us to see the bigger picture. They shift our focus from individual or group priorities to humanity's collective future. But the challenge is that this unity often fades when the immediate danger is gone. If we could learn to sustain that sense of togetherness, imagine what we could achieve-not just in crises but for the long-term progress of humanity. 🌍✨

These are not words of sympathy but words of hope. It’s not that the world can be cruel. It just is sometimes. But it’s also full of grace and kindness. Perhaps that’s is the intended nature of the human experience. So we can rise through it and lift others with us. Here are the words of another human when asked a question similar to yours Ren. Question: “The depth of my consciousness causes me to suffer. Is it a blessing or a curse to feel everything soo deeply?” Answer: The only way out is through. You take more of the things that poison you until you turn it into a tonic that girdles the world around you " Please find the hope in this.

In a way, he is helping to shape the world. I’d wager that many of his fans come from across the political spectrum. Perhaps, just perhaps, those who fiercely advocate for competitive capitalism at any cost might hear his words and pause to reflect. If even a few minds have been changed, then he’s made an impact. Unfortunately, any attempt to challenge capitalism is often demonized. Until that perception shifts, relentless competitiveness, no matter the cost, even to human lives, will persist. Just look at America: the wealthiest economy in the world, yet so many people live in trailer parks or on the streets. The demand for psychologists is greater than ever. It doesn’t have to be this way.

The sad truth is that most of us, myself, you, Ren, and so many others, share the same vision: a unified, peaceful world where we live in harmony with nature, benefiting from planet-friendly modern technology, without being forced to spend 90% of our lives doing work we don’t want to do. Unfortunately, we’re led by servants of the few. It’s always been this way because the game is rigged. Option 1: the red team, or option 2: the blue team, both ultimately serve the elite. To say it doesn't matter if your left or right wing is just a sop to some of his right wing followers! Of course it matters - whether you care about the good of everyone, human, animal and planet or you care about nothing but paying lower taxes and enjoying the hardship of others. To say that doesn't matter negates everything else he says and makes it a nonsense. What side you are on politically is who you are - like it or not! Like choosing to eat animals or not speaks of your morals, are you prepared to put up with a little discomfort to truly make a difference? Do you give £5 to 'Shelter' or buy a homeless bod a sleeping bag? These things speak volumes about your innate decency or lack of it.

I'm sure Ren believes in what he says. He likely has friends and even fellow artist that have views on both sides of the political spectrum. I believe you are stereotyping and linking people and putting them in one giant group. I've been a huge Ren fan (have all his CD's and a lot of merch) since I discovered "Hi Ren" when it aired 2 yrs ago. I'm actually a Christian and don't agree with Ren on certain issues but it doesn't bother me because I can separate the two. I believe Ren is a beautiful, caring, authentic, honest soul who cares about humanity. He is rare in this divided messed up world. I actually don't side with the left or the right because at the end of the day they all report back to the same bosses/masters. Most of the politicians passions are illusions and they will do or say what they are told because of who is paying them. Causing division between the two sides is also a goal. I do and have helped my fellow man that needs a lift, because I have morals and integrity that mean everything to me. I'm also Christian so my views differ from the majority of Ren's main fan base. But I care about all people even if I don't agree with their life style or choices. I just thought you are unjustly throwing an entire large group of people under the bus when things are not black and white. I think Ren believes that as well. Not to paint an entire side with one brush.

Lol I’ve always seen it as him flipping the world off, and even on our behalf. Now I see another way it could signal to a limited body and things like that. Interesting.

@@Heathergreymaulkinagain Yeah, just feels different tho. I'm just overly sensitive.

@ I wouldn’t call you overly sensitive! You’re seeing what you see and feeling from your pov. I’m really glad for that. You gave me another read, which I love. I surely do relate to telling my illnesses to eff the eff off or get out of the way sometimes. Now I can picture him flipping them off with me in those murky moments 👍😌🙏
