*Super compact and easy to carry and travel with accessories for the electric **Generater.Systems** .I was worried this was going to be bulky or hard to use.Hooks up easy and charges quickly*

11.2 amps for a 200 watts panel is excellent. Some 200-watt panels amp specs are less or right around 10amps.I might buy this setup. Here is an example: Rich Solar 200 Watt Solar Panel Specifications Maximum Power(Pmax): 200W Maximum Power Voltage(Vmp): 20.4V Maximum Power Current(Imp): 9.80A

We have this kit. I like it and it puts out good power, but it is too bulky and heavy to take with us. We use it to recharge our batteries when we get home after a trip. Good video.

Thanks Stacy, yes the 200w is very heavy to take. We have the 100 watt and it is a very nice size. We did play with a Doku 150w soft solar kit last summer and I was very surprised on the output, however you cannot leave them out in all weather situations.

I would keep the 200w if you have room. You may not have sun all day long. I bought the 100w then bought a second one without the controller to have the option.

What type and number of batteries do you use ? How long can you dry camp on your 100 watt panels? We don't use any electrical when dry camping, just the LED lights, water pump, power awning and what the propane ftig's brain needs to keep it running. Thanks

A lot of folk use amps to describe charge rate but you might want to use watts instead!

Do you have the part number of the cable and the connector receptacle mounted on rv.did you buy those from renogy?

So using these panels with the solar on the side connection don’t interfere with the rooftop system? It just adds more power without any feedback between controllers?
@TheSavvyCampers
@TheSavvyCampers 2 жыл бұрын
Adding the side solar doesn't interfere with our rooftop unit. It will add additional amps of charging to your batteries.

I kind of think it's low class on the part of Renogy. I just bought this 200 watt solar suitcase for my Delta Max. As many of those suitcases that they give away to other KZbinr,. you would think they would let you keep this. The hassle alone of packing that thing up which is heavy, and getting it back to them then waiting for the other is classless on their part. Just my thought. I thought they were supposed to be the customer-oriented people??

Is that plug on the side connected straight to the battery positive and negative or does it go to the input of your onboard solar charge controller? My guess is to the input of another controller in which case you are feeding the battery output of the renogy suitcase controller into the PV input of another. Unless of course the plug at the side goes straight to battery.
@TheSavvyCampers
@TheSavvyCampers Жыл бұрын
The plug from the second charge controller goes directly to the battery.
@GetCTOwned

@@TheSavvyCampers what second charge controller? Is there one behind the plug on the side of the RV then? Or do you mean the renogy suitcase controller is connected direct to batt?

Regarding your Zamp/SAE port on the side--I have the same port and the 200 w Renogy but the adapter which changes the polarity and is supposed to fit in the port does not fit. Clearly yours fits. The SAE port has a rounded form factor and the adapter has a squared off form factor. I have tried different adapters from different sources and still have had no success. I am now waiting on another adapter (recommended by Renogy). I would love to know why yours works🙄

Ours was marked for Zamp products. I removed the Zamp sticker and reversed the wiring just inside the camper wall. No need for reversal adapters. We use the SAE connector to power a 12v XM radio or 12V outdoor television. When using side solar I connect to a fused pigtail wired directly to the shunt and battery.

problem is you are using two charge controllers and not getting everything from the 200w portable panels. You need to bypass the controller on the back of the panels and feed that 10 amps into the controller mounted in your trailer.

@@tobyray8700 how so? If the two charge controllers are connected to a bud bar then it seems you have max efficiency from both systems, without either panel limiting the other.

You are assuming the side solar port goes to a charge controller. I have a factory port on the side of my trailer that goes directly to the battery, therefore requires a separate charge controller.

Because there is solar on the roof I assume there is a solar charge controller connected internally in the camper but you are right there may not be.

Not pulling in 9.4 amps. Your solar panel is generating or producing 9.4 amps. Putting out, not pulling in.
