I’m starting my first van build and while being familiar with electronics I’m new to solar stuff and this was a huge huge help thank you!

Ive just installed the same kit on my van, the plastic back of the charge controller comes off or flush mounting, the terminals are labelled under the cover, that cover is for optional surface mounting. Great video though. It definitely gave me more confidence in installing my own panels.

Very nicely done. Do you have your aux battery connected to shore power/charger as well? I am looking to install a solar kit on my auxiliary Renogy 100ah AGM that is currently connected to a NOCO charger for shore charging. Not certain how to piggy back solar onto that to ensure no issues. Curious if you had to do the same?

Great video! Just one question: at the very end of the video, you showed a wire to plug into the wall to charge your battery with " shore power". Where does that wire go into the system? Was that provided in the kit? Thank you!
@jermeep3 жыл бұрын
You will need a shore power kit. Renogy makes them as well.

Very informative video! Did you end up using an inverter? If so what did you end up using for your 200 ah battery?
@thefreezedryingcommunity Жыл бұрын
Yes I used an inverter. I used renogy gel batteries

@@thefreezedryingcommunity awesome! What size inverted did you use? I just stumbled upon your channel yesterday and I like it!

i Have a question, might be dumb, why cant you hook the vans batteries up to it> I have a ford transit that as 2 large batteries
@thefreezedryingcommunity Жыл бұрын
I like having a separate battery for the chassis and one for the house. That way you are never stuck with dead batteries

Can you do a follow up review on your rooftop tent? I am curious how it is holding up. Thanks!
@thefreezedryingcommunity4 жыл бұрын
Just had it up the other day to take it off for the year. After one year, I am happy with it. The material and sowing seams seem well done. Because it is under cover when not in use, I think it will last for many years. Is there better quality out there? YES. does it justify the cost?

200 watt isn't enough for what I need. ☹️ I need 500 watts. Im putting in a small air conditioner, and, a microwave. Gotta have 500watts.
@thefreezedryingcommunity4 жыл бұрын
it's not about the wattage going in, it's about your inverter power, 200 watts is plenty if you are only drawing large amounts of power in small increments. The A/C though, you are going to have lots of batteries!
