I'm enjoying watching your videos but does your husband realize on those type of walls you're not supposed to be using regular cement? You're supposed to be using lime mortar. Cement doesn't allow the what's underneath of the surface to breathe and cement keeps the walls from breathing and actually deteriorates what's under the surface. I hope he has talked to somebody in Portugal about that but if there's stone underneath those white walls on the inside and outside of your house he definitely needs to be using lime mortar and not just use cement on top of it it's going to make matters worse. I watch a lot of houses being renovated in Portugal and that's one thing I've learned watching all these shows and videos of different couples renovating old Portuguese houses.

Hi. That's a lovely question. We are lime rendering external stone walls but cement rendering all modern brick walls. The internal hallway wall is just being patched in preparation for the plasterboard.
