Your workshop is starting to really shape up nicely, even before your tools and equipment enter the picture. As everyone is saying the stone wall is beautiful…a piece of art. You need to find a way to keep it exposed as a focal point. Looking forward to seeing the floor post grinding and sealing. The sealing will certainly go a long way to controlling your dust issue. You are finally getting a workshop worth of supporting your projects and personal ingenuity. Excited to see how you will heat the space so you can comfortably use it all year long. As a Canadian we share a very similar climate that can be very harsh in the winter. I truly look forward to your weekly videos and love watching you tackle your projects and share your sarcasm. It would be great to meet your family and see who is benefiting from all your hard work.

Thanks a lot John, i appreciate the comment!! i am planning to add a wood stove in the shop (metal one), with a chimney, but for that i need to remove the tree 100% cant place a chimney under a tree
@johnferris4237
@johnferris4237 Жыл бұрын
Makes sense to place the stove against the stone for 2 reasons. Fire safety, plus the rocks will be the zone that will radiate the exterior cold temps into the shop in the winter. The tree removal will be an interesting episode. Considering the tortoise and the hare approach to removing a tree….the tortoise approach is certainly the best in your situation, plus you will need some help on the ground for sure. Considering the low ceiling do you have a plan for an exhaust fan for your personal safety but also to lower humidity (primarily in the summer) to protect the integrity of the predominantly wooden structure. To additionally to control humidity it is very advisable to grade the exterior 24-36 inches with a 4-5 inch slope to keep as much moisture away from the building. A small amount of work that will help to maintain the integrity of all your hard work.

For your future floor dust problems for cheap: One of the basic homemade sweeping compounds is made with 6 cups of fine sawdust, 1 1/2 cups of mineral oil and 2 cups of rock salt. Mix the ingredients in a bucket or other large container. Prepare the sweeping compound in advance, if desired, and have it ready when needed.

I’ve done 4 rock walls with no experience, of course I got better but I just love the look of a nice rock wall! I used a water sealer on them all, not only did it improve the depth of color but it really did help to keep moss and excess water staining at bay. Awesome job on the floor. The rock wall turned out pretty dang good as well. Yeah you're going to have to remove that tree. Probably why your floor was cracking. The root system is always the same size as the limbs of the tree.

yeah, the floor was cracking on that spot because way back when i poured it, i poured it in 2 sections and on that crack spot there is no rebar under it.

@@Ants_Pants I just put a video out a few days ago it’s doing pretty good, as far as my health goes it’s about the same my heart has been hurting a lot and it takes me forever to finish videos because of it, the mornings are the worst for me. I try and keep it out of my vids now cause most people don’t understand and really it just sounds like I’m whining, eventhough it really effects me and I have pretty much stopped doing my normal job because of it so the only money coming in is from KZbin rite now. I’m really happy to see how well your channel has been doing! Just think a little over a year ago we were both at like 1,000 subs or so and your about to hit 30k and I should hit 20k subs tonight or tomm, so that’s pretty cool! Really like what u have been doing with the workshop and all👍😊

Ants, it’s great to see a KZbinr use their brains and mask up when you grind on concrete. Vacuum cleaner was a good attempt,but it was just overwhelmed. Most DIYers don’t release the danger of crystalline silica . Without a good respirator your toast and it’s irreversible. That would be some bad “Gulag time”. Walls look marvelous, great video

Here is a little tip for you that my father used to do when he was cleaning his garage in the spring he to some shovels of snow and put on the garage floor and then took a broom and swiped it around. The snow would catch 99,9% of all dust on the garage floor and then he would just shovel it outside
