My sister's also kinda shy so during her wedding they did the vows without microphones so no one else could hear (I was a bridesmaid and I could barely hear them) and she covered the kiss with her bouquet and everyone thought that was cute, so there are some more private options if that's what you're interested in

Advice from an introvert who got married about 3 years ago - I kept my eyes only on my husband and found it less stressful to have some minor form of touch as a small physical reassurance (so many photos of our locked pinkies haha). We agreed on a 'time out' signal beforehand for us to slink away from people and cameras when it was getting a bit overwhelming too

I've worked several weddings, and one thing I've realized that even if there's some sort of a mishap (there usually is with an event of that scale), the guests rarely even notice that anything's going on, no matter what happened, because they're there to enjoy the moment. Everyone's there to celebrate you and Dan and have a good time, and those good vibes are what will stick with them after the party. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful wedding!!

I didn't go all out with my own wedding, but I do remember my sister's. The cake decorator brought cake in (stacked pumpkins, because Halloween wedding) and it was leaning and eventually tipped over completely. The entire hall was witness to the brides wrath. (I am guessing, knowing my sister, that she requested to use a different cream that melted faster which was the ultimate cause of the leaning tower of pumpkins.) They tasted good at least 😊 each one was a different flavour.

I've played, I think, *every* role in a wedding (incl both bride and groom - go figure ) and I was a professional event planner so I did a few weddings, and so: 1) First of all, those that say that nobody is gonna notice if there's something wrong are totally correct. If you don't make a fuss and draw attention to a mishap, the worst that's gonna happen is that people fondly remember it as a quirk of the day that becomes a core, and likely fond, part of the memory as a whole. People will remember yours and Dan's attitude about the event more than anything else. The only thing that can really ruin a wedding is a Bridezilla. 2) Second, wherever possible, take some time that's *just* for you and Dan. Straight after photos and before the reception is a popular one, or straight after whatever ceremony aspect you have - you'll feel a lit more prepared for the day when you remind yourself that it really is a day that's about the two of you and your love for each other. Lean on each other and enjoy it. I would recommend this to every couple when planning the day, but I would insist upon it if either of the couple was shy or introverted or likely to get more anxious than normal (and the bar for 'above normal anxiety' is fairly high). The parts that *you* will remember most fondly are going to be these private moments while you share your joy with each other, and it's also the part that reminds you why you've gotten all these people together - to share with them how awesome your chosen human is! 3) Remember that you can absolutely take some photos in private if a public PDA moment is gonna freak you out. Organise some private time with the photographer if you can and take some other, more intimate kissing/couple photos if you think they're more likely to be the ones that look natural and that you want to keep. Not having a perfect picture of your 'first kiss' or whatever other big PDA moment really isn't going to be a big deal to you in a few years, most likely, but a photo that looks natural and reminds you of a moment that you actually enjoyed is going to be much more treasured. 4) On the above note, If you haven't already got a shared drive or google album or something that everyone can upload their photos to, make one so that anyone who gets a good photo of the day can share that with you. The day itself is likely to be super overwhelming and you'll not really get time to talk to any one peerson for very long, but everyone can still feel like they're part of building the day if you let them get involved like that. And you never know if a random candid that someone takes of you when you're listening to speeches or similar is gonna be the photo you love the most. I accidentally took the photo that was the front cover of my friend's wedding album this summer, becuase I happened to be sitting in the perfect spot and capture the perfect look they shared while the priest was speaking. 5) It's a cliché advice, but just let yourself enjoy it! It's probably the only time in your life all your favourite people are going to be together in a single room at the same time, so let yourself enjoy their company and being surrounded by their love and support and care.

ugh its the same w me and songwriting and producing or even writing novels (to an extent on this one), my rough drafts all have placeholder titles for names, chapter titles and novel/song titles. Often in rough drafts my characters dont have proper names, and when i write my first demo of a song, i usually have a placeholder verse to try and see how i can work around a chorus.

@AmyScott-oz5cq I know not everyone can or wants to use mods…but T.O.O.L. mod by TwistedMexi allows you to delete the permanent stuff in the apartments (like the pipes) and with a little manipulation you can change the front door too. I feel like I remember a mod to change traits too but I’m not 100% sure. BUT…yeah the door choices are crazy and there are so many things we shouldn’t have to get mods and cheat for.

Especially as a slightly introverted person take 15 minutes after the ceremony and before taking photos or going to the cocktail hour or whatever and have those 15 minutes just for Dan and yourself. We went to the area where I got ready and our caterers brought up a glass of champagne and a plate of food so we could just decompress together and actually eat.

All that matters is who’s at the end of that aisle and celebrating your life together. Everything after that is just fun. Stressing about it won’t change it. Wedding advice (got married less than a year ago). The first dance is awkward to start but I just only looked at my wife and that helped me not think about people watching 😂. Don’t do a full song because it goes on SO LONG - we did a 4 minute song and I regret it lol. Kissing, just like a chaste close month kiss made me feel like weird about people just staring at us lol. Old lady wedding advice incoming: First dance, if the time comes and you're not feeling it, don't do it. It's yours and Dan's day, the people around you are people that love you, and that care more about your comfort and happiness than any kind of "tradition" (which it really isn't, it's a very modern idea). So if you're feeling it, do it and have a wonderful moment, if you're not, don't and have a wonderful moment anyway. Do what makes you happy in the moment, and if you stumble, or misspeak, or any of the things that your brain will try to scare you with, know that in a years' time you will laugh about it, and your guest will remember it as a precious moment (personal experience, I promise). You are two lovely human beings, taking a moment to celebrate the crazy confluence of fate that brought you together, it's going to be wonderful, because you are wonderful

Your wedding fears/stress are exactly the same ones I had when i got married in October! So you are so valid for the anxiety lol My husband and I did private vows with just our wedding party and family which was really special. We also practiced our kiss and first dance a bajillion times and definitely didn’t need to. If you have a day of wedding coordinator or photographer that’s done several weddings, they can usually give you advice for how to do the kiss to look good in pictures. Our coordinator talked us through how to stand, kiss, and walk during our rehearsal. I asked the venue to start serving salads/appetizers before we did our dance so the guests weren’t waiting for us after the ceremony and so people could eat instead of looking at us so close during the dance lol. Depending on how you’re doing your reception, you could try and do something like that. Hope you have such a wonderful wedding! Ive seen other comments mention it, but definitely take some time to have a moment alone with Dan sometime during the wedding. My most favorite memories of my wedding are the ones I was alone with my husband because everything else was such a blue :)

I did mine a couple of days before, and as I'm not bad at poems I did that. For you I'd say look at it as a video script but in person and learn it as such. I know it's irl and not internet strangers but it's not far removed from what you do every day As for the dance, ask the DJ to call other people out to the dance floor about a minute in so there's time for photos but you're not doing the whole song solo. Least favourite part of my wedding was being the centre of attention so I get it, just focus on Dan and your family & friends. Don't let small things going off plan get to you as no-one will notice anyway. There was miscommunication about our exit song but no-one complained

I have been married for almost 8 years and just saw your latest video asking for advice about the more embarrassing (if you're shy) aspects of a wedding. My photographer actually made us do the rings and kiss again, while our guests walked out the venue for us to walk past and them throwing petals. Just enjoy! I always hear about people being worried about their first kiss and first dance and I wonder if people feel like they “have” to do these things, but don’t actually want to. If you’re worried about them and they’re stressing you out, think of different things to do. Perhaps you’re stressed and anxious because it’s just not something you want to do, but traditions have told us it’s what we should do. A simple kiss on the cheek at the alter, and a first dance being with everyone else involved can totally be just as lovely, and less awkward! (Also THIS APARTMENT WAS EVERYTHING!! That dark green with the browns was so perfect! This is the best modern build of Simsie’s, and it really stood out colour scheme wise from the rest, just from the subtle shifts in tones!)

I got married last summer and I was sooo stressed beforehand, thinking about all the details, having horrible dreams (also forgetting my vows, in one dream my wedding dress turned out purple and stuff like that :D ) BUT, when our wedding day came I was sooo calm, relaxed and happy, I didn't think about anything else but just marrying my best friend and spending time with him. As someone who hates having attention on them, I understand your nerves completely. Saying my vows in front of everyone was the scariest thought plus the first dance. Our band actually invited us to have a first dance as we had a secret one to one dance just us in the orangery later that night, was magical. As someone who’s about 1.5 years after our wedding - take a deep breathe! I also worried and had stress dreams, but we were so busy beforehand we didn’t get a chance to practice any of these things. And honestly that was better (for me) than practicing and stressing specifically about the wedding than everything else was. The most important thing is to enjoy it and remember why you’re there! I’m sure you’ve heard it before but it’s really the most important thing! Best wishes!!

The best piece of wedding advice I got was “a wedding is a party. Not a performance. At the end of the day if you’re married to your person, then everything went perfectly” obvs it’s still stressful but just live in the moment. The first dance, look at Dan and just be together like no one else is around. Some of my favourite photos are from our first dance cuz you can just see the love.

I used this apartment for the beginnings of a legacy once upon a time; I ended up with a primary bedroom + ensuite, 4 children's bedrooms, 2 family bathrooms, a large tv area, a formal dining, a big kitchen with bar area, a childrens play space, a separate toilet, a fake 'outdoor' dining and garden area, and an office that later got converted into a butler's bedroom. It was crazy how much space there is in this apartment.

As someone who got married, trust me, the day goes by SO fast you won't even really think about your worries! A few little things that happened that weren't supposed to, no one noticed except me for a solid 5 minutes and then you get swept away doing so many other things! I was VERY nervous doing the first kiss but it was nothing, people start clapping and you just kind of stop noticing things! I got married 5 years ago and looking back the only things I remember are the food (lol) and the professional pictures. I really don't think about anything else that happened at the wedding, those are just the main two things I really remember - other than obviously getting married!

As a newlywed (November 20024!) I didn't even notice the guests once I got to the front of the aisle. I'm a pretty self-conscious person so that was crazy, but just standing there with my husband made everything else disappear. We also chose to do an 'abridged' vow exchange because of my dyslexia and did a 'full' vow exchange with just the two of us after the ceremony and before the reception. It also allowed my husband to actually cry a bit since he's super private with his emotions and knew he wouldn't cry seeing me walk down the aisle. Basically, you can find your private moments, so take them and cherish them!

Kayla, as an interior designer trust me when i say that we use the exact same approach when it comes to figuring out the floorplan. In 2D modelling i don't even place a sofa, i usually just place a sofa-sized block to help me visualize the dimensions of everything.

Not sure if this will help but I am very similar to you in what I am nervous/shy about. When I got married I was so happy and in the moment there with my husband that I honestly didn’t really think about those things. And like others have commented, your family and friends are happy to celebrate you and Dan that they aren’t going to be fixated on those things, even though you will be thinking they are lol like I did. Just have fun and enjoy the moment, easier said than done, but it will be great. Congrats!!

We still wanted to dance but without all eyes on us, so after being introduced and Mr. and Mrs. we had our dj invite all couples to the floor with us. For wedding advice! I think I put this on a recent video too, but I cannot recommend props for your vows enough. Since you're short on time, I'd suggest some nicely printed photos from important moments that you can structure vows around! Like, I used art of some of my wife and my early photos and then made vows about laughter and growth and peace and love and all that good stuff, one kinda theme per photo. And because I had props symbolizing those moments, people were more looking at the props than me, which helped with the shyness of doing mushy stuff in front of my family lol hope everything goes perfectly for you! Make sure you eat your cake! My wife and I had our one bite when we cut it and then no more lol our literal only regret

As a many times wedding guest, AND a nervous performance person.... No one but you will remember your wedding dance. I think I remember some of my sister's, but literally no one else's... But mine lives in a perfect bubble in my brain and no one can correct it for me (because they don't remember 😅😅) Also, the kiss is awkward for everyone! But everyone knows it's for good photos, and it passes quickly. Then everyone wants to give you hugs and take photos and it's much more relaxed and you forget everything else

When you chat with your photographer in the morning, they can also give you advice on the pause timing for the kiss! Mine also had us plan to pause halfway up exiting the aisle for another kiss, and its a more fun one because I could have my bouquet up in the air and stuff. Something to consider! I got married just about six months ago and no one's gonna remember little details that you stress about. My husband and I just swayed back and forth for our first dance, it doesn't have to be anything special. Like other people have said, people are there to celebrate you, so unless you don't show up, it's going to be fine. P.S. I also wrote my vows a week before lol, its fine

Marriage advice for a millennial with anxiety! I got married in 2021 and I am exactly like you when it comes to the vows, the first dance, the kiss, etc. First, let me say those are a fraction of the day and there will be so much else to take your attention and bring you joy. The wonderful thing is that you'll be surrounded by people you love and who love you which is why you invited them to your wedding, so they won't be thinking of you judgmentally at all 💕 Also, you won't be alone for those things, you'll have Dan. If you find yourself getting nervous, just focus on him and let the rest melt away. Most importantly, it is YOUR wedding, try to enjoy every minute and don't sweat the small stuff. I found the whole day flew. I sobbed through my vows (my husband did too). We barely moved during the first dance because my dress didn't allow for anything more than swaying. I can't remember what we ate that day, but I remember being surrounded by people I loved and getting married to the man I loved. I hope you and Dan have a magical day 💕

I was worried about the same things too until I realised, its a wedding, something will go 'wrong'. I just let go, our first dance was were things went 'wrong' the song kept restarting after about 5 seconds haha. It was great though, we all had a laugh and didn't let it affect us. Relax and have fun :)

My brother and SIL did their vows only to each other. They did their first look out on this pretty ridge in Colorado. Some of the wedding party was watching from a distance, but we couldn't hear them and they couldn't hear us. Then they did their vows out on the ridge, just them and two photographers. It was really, really sweet and I am getting choked up just thinking about it! I officiated the ceremony and while we did have the "I do"s, during the bit where vows to each other would traditionally go, I instead made the crowd vow to love and support them and their new family. No one I spoke to even noticed that the vows were gone. So don't be afraid to do non-traditional options if it makes the day better for you!!

Hi, I just got married last June and I didn't do a first dance neither of us really like to dance, and I dislike PDA too! My maid of honour joked that the first time she saw me and hubby kiss was at the wedding. But it was alright, the day is just so wonderful, everyone is there to love and support you not tear you down so do as much as you feel comfortable with! P.S. make sure you don't let photos dictate what you do all day! For me, the priority was people. I tried my best to have genuine connection time and time with friends instead of a series of photo ops.

Advice from someone who got married last April: try to keep your and Dan's vows a similar word count (my husband and I were texting each other our word counts as we were working on them as we were writing) so the vows would be a similar length. We also did a second kiss at the end of the recession *just in case* we botched out first kiss so the photographer would get a second chance. It ended up being a cuter picture because all our family was in the background. You're going to do great! I'm so happy for you

Regarding the worry of PDA Start small, like take a walk with Dan to public area but not crowded and hug and a small kiss, try to build the courage in small doses And my biggest advice - ”go with the flow” all weddings have small hickups - mine did also, it doesnt help to stress about stuff - go with the flow and just trust your friends and family to make the best of it

You could always do your vows privately and just say your "I dos." I saw a few comments about hiding the kiss behind the bouquet, I think that's cute. And honestly, if you just wanna sway to your song, that's all you gotta do. Whatever is comfortable for you guys❤

My husband and myself are both anxious people. I get nervous speaking my true feelings in front of people and he was nervous about not seeing me until I walked down the aisle. As out families give us a hard time about me being over emotional and him not that emotional. Anyway, to avoid unnecessary stress we choose to do a fist look and do private vows at that time. We worked together to come up with public vows that we both loved and felt comfortable doing. By doing this it took so much stress off us and our ceremony was so fun we were no longer anxious about the kiss and it came naturally to both of us (again both anxious/a little embarrassed with PDA) our photos came out amazing and I can’t recommend this enough! Just remember to have fun and focus on dan and your love!!!

I got married 3 years ago and the best advice I can give you is that your first dance is pretty much the only ALONE time you have with your hubby. Just use it to talk and laugh. Pics will be cute because you’re just talking to your bestie 🥹🤍

as someone who is getting married in october of this year, I can confidently say that having nightmares about the wedding is both normal and terrifying. I had a dream that I was getting married in front of 300 people (I don't even know 300 people), my dress tore, and my husband was playing clash of clans at the altar. I think we may be in the same boat

The only tip I have is to be YOURSELF. People are going to your wedding to celebrate you and Dan and yalls happiness!! The way you kiss or dance will not matter because the guests do not care! I was so worried at my wedding, but ultimately they were the for my wife and I. ❤ and we had a blast!! Just have fun and enjoy your wedding day ❤🎉

the amount of times i wanna play in this apartment but jsut don't because the size is overwhelming.... years ago i think i turned it into a 4 or 5 bedder. even tho i dont own half the packs i will probably take inspo from this re: photographable kiss and PDA - your photographer should be able to give you some pointers??? but also any accomodations that can be made to alleviate your anxiety with PDA should be considered, so you're more comfortable during YOUR ceremony. Re *the* kiss: Trust me when I say that you will be too busy trying not to cry to really worry too much about the pda! ALSO my personal tip: make it someone's job to keep you FED!! It might sound ridiculous, but I am serious. I didn't eat when I should have and I know a LOT of other people have had similar experiences.

100% practice the kiss! Ideally, with your photographer if you've got a trial session. I found it so awkward to kiss in front of everyone like that, but especially knowing we'd be photographed. Having a 30-minute photo session the week before with our photographer helped a bit with that stress! Good luck!

Have a "first look" with your the two of you, it can be a good way to ease some nerves, get some good pictures with just the two of you and to share the intimate moment of you seeing each other for the first time be just the two of you.

I got married in September, I was also shy about the dance and first kiss but just relax! We practiced the dance and kiss the night before and ended up having to FaceTime my maid of honor to help us figure out hand placements and length! As for the dance, our first ever time dancing together was us practicing and we ended up having so much fun dancing together on the big day. Stick with a simple few moves and just pay attention to each other in the moment!

my friends did a LAST dance instead of first. they also got married in orlando! the DJ announced the last song and then asked everyone to go outside (we lined up and blew bubbles as the couple walked out to the limo) and while we all organized, the DJ played their song and they got their private photos and moment
