i think that tiktok was meant for selfish, lazy, uncaring people who would just end up returning the pet or worse. pets do require some time and effort to look after - on a daily basis. if you're a stressed out young parent who already has your hands full trying to raise a toddler... probably a bad idea to add a puppy on top of that. but of course, if you know what you're doing and have the resources, having a pet can increase your life expectancy too. multiple studies have shown that correlation.

At 3:11, the phenomenon Dr. Mike is dealing with (where he can't tell whether something is parody or not, due to so many people out there having proven they actually believe ridiculous things) is known as Poe's Law, wherein without a clear indicator of the author's intent, it can be impossible to tell the difference between a sarcastic or parodic representation of an extremist viewpoint, and a completely genuine representation of that viewpoint.

On the pet thing: I think the most successful people have pets. But, that depends on if your measure of success is to be happy, or to have a lot of money. I measure success in how happy I am.

He’s giving those type of guys to tell girls they’ll only be successful if they wear make up it’s gross like having a pet doesn’t make it whether you are successful or not in life. @EvonneSol47 минут бұрын
@@crystalsaavedra I didn't know that context, but it makes some sense, unfortunately. Having a dog or a cat to me means that not only do you have empathy, but you can [hopefully] afford to care for that animal and treat them well, which is what we strive for with our cat. I think owners should be vetted more seriously though, some people are downright cruel to their animals and shouldn't be allowed to take care of anything.

@jessehill935747 минут бұрын
So a little over a month ago I did something a trucker should never do. Dropped a trailer in below freezing temps without gloves on. I ended up with a pretty nasty laceration on my left thumb that I ended up sealing with Krazy Glue. I then got permission to go to urgent care. The doctor wasn't happy about the Krazy Glue, but since I had rinsed the cut and had full range of motion sent me home with a tetanus shot and was given the blessing to use hydrocolloidal bandages. I was very happy with the results because I could see new skin growth less than a day later when I changed the bandage, the Krazy Glue was somehow absorbed into the bandage, and I was very optimistic that it would heal with minimal scarring. Then came the followup appointment. This doctor told me the new skin growth was an infection and proceeded to scrape it out with a hydrogen peroxide soaked q tip. He then completely dried out the cut and bandaged it telling me to keep it dry. I now have a very red scar that looks like it's going to be permanent because of this. All because of a doctor whose wound care was over 20 years out of date.

0:20 This is a more likely misinterpretation and confusion between deodorants and antiperspirant. A lot of consumers don't even know there is difference and think it work same. Deodorants only reduce smell so yes they don't have aluminium but antiperspirant are basically made on using aluminium (or aluminium oxydes) to stop swetting and so far it's still best for now.

The comment about comparing getting medical advice from a doctor to letting a trained pilot fly the plane you're in was an awesome comparison! People go on about how they know more about medicine than doctors do, but seriously...if you were getting open heart surgery, who would you trust more...a licensed surgeon with years of training, or someone who had read about how to perform surgery by Googling it? Of course, people are going to say they want the licensed surgeon! So, then, if they want the licensed doctor to perform their surgery because he or she knows more about surgery than the person who read about it on the internet, then why the hell would they think that Googling things on the internet suddenly makes them able to miraculously know more about medicine than a licensed doctor does when it comes to the rest of their health, as well?

"there are blockages" I've had a bowel blockage before. It was miserable. I thought I was dying. I wanted to be dead. I was moving in and out of the bath trying to soothe the excruciating pain. I was on and off the toilet for 8 hours. I did my first emergency room visit ever, where they put me on a drug several times stronger than morphine - and I STILL felt the pain. I was lucky, I managed to dislodge it myself through some of the most excruciating straining I've ever done. It literally caused a bunch of my gut lining to shed (between that and the lingering pain, that's why I went to the emergency room). People die from bowel blockages. If you are able to choke your gut like that guy did, you do not have bowel blockages.

Kidney Stone super producer here due to horseshoe kidney with poor drainage and scarring issues… Try a bumpy truck, jeep, or riding lawn mower for the stones. SEX, hiking, yoga stretching, inversion, percussion, Pyridium, a lot of water… heating pad, yoga ball, bedside inversion, percussion gun (be very careful with this one). Had a ESWL 3 years ago and passed 100+ stone fragments over the following 3 months. Early last year passed a few 2-6mm stones and last month had a ESWL (cannot have stents due to horseshoe kidney and scarring) and have only passed half dozen 1-3mm fragments. Sometimes you have to figure out what works the best for you to help pass the stones.
