When I saw the show, Tamyra's mic went out during "Out Tonight," so she had to sing without any microphone and we could still hear her perfectly. She really has an amazingly strong voice.

I just saw RENT on May 6 with Tamyra, and it was incredible. She's really really grown and made the role her own, the dancing was incredible, her voice sounds better than ever. It's SO sad that RENT is going off Broadway, I wish I had the chance to see it again!! If you haven't seen it live yet, it's an absolute must!! Love RENT! : ) Thanks for the video.

Wow. I have never had the pleasure of seeing this on broadway, but have seen the movie countless time, and I can't imagine anyone else playing Roger, but this girl blew Rosario out of the water in my opinion. Loved the way she stressed the "give in to love or live in fear" line. Favourite line out of the movie, by far. I hope one day I get to see this performed live.

I am so happy this vid got posted. Adam still sounds as incredible as he did on the OBCR. (I went on a different night and remember him sounding even BETTER than he does in this boot). I'm really happy that Tamyra is Mimi now instead of some of the others I've seen before. Of course she's not Daphne, but she does the character justice & did a great job. I hope more boots get posted before they leave!

They were so great together. The night we went (August 29th) Tamyra had to leave and Dana Dawson did the second act. She was good too, but I really wanted to hear Tamyra's Goodbye Love live. Oh well, I never thought I would get to see Adam and Anthony do it live, so that was pretty amazing.

I attended the RENT performance at Michigan State University last spring, and I must say that I am very jealous that Tamyra was touring with RENT somewhere else. She has an amazing voice. Don't get me wrong, the cast that I saw was amazing and there was lots of chemistry between the actors. Goosebumps covered my body for most of the show. I would most definitely see it again! Like someone said in a previous post, Tamyra Gray has an amazing voice but I also don't feel the warmth and heart as Daphne and some of the other Mimis I have heard sing. And let's face it, when you hear the original cast bring it like they did during their 10th anniversary, nothing compares. But I will definitely be there before Anthony and Adam leave the show perhaps for good on Sept. 9. Thanks guys for coming back one more time.

Worship him now babe.. He is like fine wine.. Just keeps getting better. Upload the 10th anniversary show from Google. I have listened to the original recording and compared it to how he is recent and now. No comparison. Also check out his duet with Adam from the Today show when they sing "Living in America." I don't say that people can't feel the way they do, but if you worshipped him then, it really is curious what it is you don't like now. Strange indeed!

Boy I can't stand those who can't appreciate the essence of what makes RENT so great. Did you know Anthony Rapp along with Daphne Ruben Vega were the two original originals of Jonathan Larson's creation and vision. If anything, Rapp is the person who was and still is the glue when it comes to RENT. The person who mentions how mature Anthony has gotten, she gets it.

I think Adam has matured so much in his voice since 1996. He can sound smooth or rocker-harsh whenever he wants now and I think his range definitely has been stretched. He can now do a lot of high notes without vibrato, and he's getting so unbelievably good at the (maybe starting rocker-rough like in glory, and then) pure, straight-tone going into a vibrato/ riff at the end whenever he holds a long high note. Also think movie didn't bring out the power in his voice :(

Tamayra is an American Idol alum. She battled nearly to the end with Justin and Kelly. Many people wanted her to win. It's a case of American Idol "losers" doing well. (Where's Justin?)BTW, She and Kelly are still good friends. Kelly came to see her opening night. And yes...she surprised a bunch of people with how well she did RENT. I saw her on 10/6 -- wow!

It's 12:56 EST. I just got home from seeing RENT. So how was it? Overall? I must confess, I wasn't blown away. It was a little down-energy IMO. Tamyra was GREAT, but Adam and Anthony seemed a bit on auto pilot -- uncommitted. Adam's arm was hurt and you could see him favoring it. Didn't detract from the show, tho. I give it a B-. Adam's voice, however, was the gift it always is.
