It looks so much better and sticks without air pockets if you use a small safety pin and randomly poke holes in the contact paper before applying it. My mother used to do this in the homes we rented when I was a small child. She was amazing in taking nothing and making it beautiful! 💖❤️

For bubbles on any decals always take a sewing needle and poke a hole. Instantly removes the trapped air. Q-tips work great for corners

Quick fix for bubbles: take a very thin needle and poke in the center of the bubble, run over with a squeegee/cr. card and thats it. It wont work for every single bubble but it'll do the job!

Mladen Dimitrijevic this is such a good tip! I’ll have to remember that.

The (small amount) of excess from the bubble up doesn’t crease if you do that?
@Passionfruitpebbles4 жыл бұрын
@@allikay2812 sometimes, that’s why it doesn’t work every time. Gotta be careful when you try to push it flat with an object cuz if you use too much strength, depending on the paper, it can rip

Great job! Quick tip for wall tiles, before you lay first sheet cut off tabs so you start with straight edge, saves adding bits to end 😁🍀💚

For peel and stick tiles, you always cut the ends off to make a flat end to start with so you don't have that puzzle look and have to go back and cut out squares to put in those open spaces. But you did good.

Very pretty looking! Just know that contact paper is going to be a nightmare to remove. You thought it took a long time to put down it will take 2x longer to get off and clean the sticky residue. I have watched so many KZbin videos of this and it comes off in little bits at a time so people break nails picking at it for hours. Then the sticky residue you’ll need goo gone and scrap till you can’t anymore. The fake tiles also from youtube videos seem to have the opposite problem. They don’t last and start to fall off usually within a few months especially where heat touches them. (stove/oven and microwave area) For the money you spent I would just talk to your landlord about fixing this up the real way because most landlords if your making good quality improvements are happy for you to do them (it costs them zero and makes the space more rentable or even higher rent priced from the upgrades). Just makes sure you get in writing anything they ok for you to do.

Love everything ! Great makeover, I would paint the rim, it would look more put together. Would have left the white counter top, but that’s just my preference because I thought it looked more „expensive“ since it is a real counter top. But the black handles totally make the look complete, as well as the open shelving. PS: i love your Videos, such good Vibes and I love that you keep it real:-) all good luck in NYC and keep safe and healthy. Greetings from Germany. Actually I would have been in NYC for four months since beginning of March, because of a semester abroad but that got cancelled since Corona :( I hope I get to do it at the end of the year instead. Love Theresa
