Renting cheap in Gangnam, Seoul

Wow that key money deposit is craaazy! here we had for a lot of time a 3 months in advance deposit, but a couple of months ago the state finally removed that and now we just have to pay 1 month as a deposit, and i thought that was expensive, but now korea reached a new level! just wow. Good luck findind a good/cheap apartment!

I saw tons of "full option" (no money down, month to month) places on 직방 and they were all whack (dirty/old shower) except for the officetel I currently live in. If you want cheap rent it's tough to find a place without key money, but its possible and actually becoming more common in gangnam

Yeah you've got to be careful of those without the key money... but I know some people who have had okay experiences with it!

I'm learning this now. As I'm preparing to apply for accommodation for my exchange year. It may have to be a 고시원 for the year, who needs space to move anyway right?. Great video again mate!

Hope it all goes well! If you're going to be there for a year, maybe having a small 고시원 is not such a bad idea. You don't want to have a comfortable home to go back to. You may want to be out and meeting new people and trying new things in that year. All the best ^^
