Renting out my z1000 | Making money with motorcycles

I have 4 bikes. Just started thinking about it. goldwing, vtx1800, bmwr1150rt, bmwr1150r. I only have 4 months of good weather, but live on way to yellowstone.

Yeah I’ve been thinking about buying a small “fleet” of like 3 cheap bikes and posting them. I live in an area where it’s pretty much sunny year round. If I posted each one for 50 bucks a day, and can they get rented maybe 10 days a month, that’s 1500$ a month extra income. Which would pay WELL OVER what I pay for the bikes

Really good! Do you/would you consider putting gps trackers on the bikes as you scale? Is there a mileage limit per day as well?

Hey! Thanks so much for watching brother! Yes definitely as I scale look into trackers, especially if doing this with cars! You set the mileage limit and charge however you want for each additional mile over the limit 👌

Thanks for watching!! I will do a follow up video soon but don't expect to rent your bike more than 1 weekend per month. If it's just a way to make a few more bucks maybe to pay for a mod you're interested in, its a good way to do that - if you're looking to make a ton of money, the demand isn't there yet It's also cool how you get to meet people, I made a friend who I hang out with regularly now through renting the bike :-) Overall more good than bad in my experience, I think both apps need a bit more maturing to do still

I just started looking into this as well. We do well with turo and there currently isn’t anyone in my area renting bikes. I’m looking to cover the cost of the bikes I like and maybe make a few dollars along the way. Sounds like that’s been your experience?

Did you have to up ⬆️ your personal insurance on the bike in order to rent it out?

Hey great question, no you do not. Twisted road and riders share have their own insurance apart from your own. For context I have minimal coverage on my bike since its older - the platforms cover me when its rented though

No credit check needed. I believe you need basic insurance to have your bike on the platform (If I'm not mistaken) but the platforms themselves actually have their own insurance policy that covers your vehicle and the renter.
