There is one simple - if not easily digestible - answer: Like-minded people in power. Predators and those with ill intent in positions of power are far more likely to surround themselves with others who have the same or similar preferences. It has been happening far more {and for far longer} than the vast majority of people know. The reason it continues to progress is most people dont want to know, because they cannot deal with it emotionally.

Is anyone surprised they work with children??!! Why has the city allowed them to work with children? Why is it children are no longer protected from these evil predators?! The only reason the theatre is FINALLY doing something is because of backlash! The theatre itself and everyone involved with it should be investigated! We all need to stand up for laws that protect the CHILDREN!

Exactly. I would pull my kids out so fast. I’m wanting to put my kid in theater but I will not allow her to do anything I can’t pop in on randomly and she is taught to not be alone with any adult and look out for her peers. If they are going away with an adult alone she would tell me. We have to look out for everyone!

The Crossville Playhouse in Tennessee. I used to work for a company that did their IT work. We found CP there, on the guys desktop (literally on his dekstop) and was restricted from reporting it per our boss. We were told to mind our business. I did report and did end up losing my job, nothing happened to the guy or the place that I can tell though. I have never trusted a theater since then.

where were the background checks? every job i apply for wants me to do a background check and drug test and those are just graphic design and office jobs. these people are around children and no questions are being asked. it just reeks of the "old boys' club," lots of backslapping and big talk and shmoozing but no actual qualification necessary.

The information came out because the artistic director kept making innuendos to a person after she asked him to stop. She looked into if there were other cases of harassment by him and found much more. So there was a current issue which prompted the background check
