A look at a clone of the Renzetti Apprentice that can be purchased on Amazon for $45 or on Aliexpress for even cheaper.

The vice is actually pretty good for the price. It does squeak a bit when rotating it, but some WD-40 fixed that real quick. They also sell it with an optional materials binder, but it's a complete waste of money since the pages are too small to hold anything. Save your money and just get the vice by itself. Add on a base for it and you have a great setup for not a lot of money.

Level the barrel and you’ll have full rotary function 😊

I bought an Aventik 3 wt fly rod and was so impressed, I ordered the same vise. Now it comes with only the standard jaws but includes 3 fly boxes for a bit less than $40 (with their $15 coupon at present). I figure the fly boxes are worth about $25 so that makes the vise about $15! I agree it's a pretty nice clone. I didn't like the noise it made when rotating and tried to take it apart to lubricate, but after removing the little c clip the head still couldn't slide out due to the sloppy pins they used to construct it. I did manage to get some lubricant in though and it smoothed it out some. I think the vise will work fine for me.

I think it's all about what you expect. If you plan on tying nonstop this probably isn't the vise for you. If you occasionally tie some things I think it's a great option

How do you have two jaws? I bought two of these Aliexpress vises . First was about 8 years ago. And lost it while moving. The second i have put heavy grease in side ,so it doesnt wiggle less when rotating. Been using it for about 4 years now.

My crappie $15 vice doesn't need that much pressure to hold a size 2 hook in the vice. I think you're money ahead keeping the "crappie vice" and using the other $45 saved on materials.
