The problem with sound is that I only get a stereo feed out of the soundboard, and the freaking guitar amps are always so loud on the stage, that very little of it winds up going to the house speakers.

It's because all the guitars are so loud on stage that none of it winds up getting into the speaker. If guitarist want to be heard, they need to turn their damn amps down.

Sorry, but I get the house feed, and if the guitar amps are too loud on stage, I barely get any in the mains. I supplement that with microphones, but if I rely too much on that, I get too much audience noise.

@@chuckstruzzieri8397 Thank you very much. These are the very best musicians from more than 300 locations around the US in several other countries. Look through my channel for anything labeled AllStars. As for the video, I do as good a job as I can as a single person. I set up a tree with four cameras, a fifth close-up camera, drummer, cam, keyboard, cam and then shoot handheld. And then I edit all eight cameras together afterwards.

The problem is that I get a stereo feed from the mixing board, and the damn guitar amps are always so loud on the stage that little of them winds up going into the main speakers. The only way I can fix that is by getting isolated feeds of all of the individual microphones. As more places switch over to digital mixing boards, it becomes easier.

It's the bane of my work, the fact that the guitar amps are always so loud on stage that very little of them wind up going into them mix for the main speakers. If guitarists want to be heard, they really need to turn down their amps on stage.

Lead singer made this great. Other band members may have been memorable too but it was hard to tell since the instruments weren't balanced...lost in the mix.
@MidWestConcertVideo25 жыл бұрын
All I ever get is a stereo feed from the soundboard, which is balance between the sound that is coming off the stage. It usually results in the guitar amps and bass amp being weaker because they are so excessively loud on the stage. if guitar and bass players want to sound better in a recording they can turn the damn amps down, to the sound engineer can bring them up in the mains and monitors.

Too bad the clown working the mixing board was asleep.
@MidWestConcertVideo26 жыл бұрын
He is NOT a clown. This is a one-man operation. I bring in eight cameras, and get a stereo feed from the mixing board which I supplement with a pair of short shotgun microphones. The problem with any board feed is that it is always weak on guitars and bass, because the sound from the guitar amps is always so freaking LOUD. If the guitarists would just turn it down, and hear their instruments via the monitors, then there would be more of their instruments in the mains, and therefore the feed I get to the video. I'm always down by the stage running the camera, and I can't be up by the sound board asking for a custom mix.
