Jennifer Arigo Actually this song was orinally written by Felder in the key of A minor. Because Henley’s voice didn’t fit with the key, it had to be moved to B minor. So RJ is singing in Henley’s natural key. If Henley has to sing in RJ’s key, he’d probably sound less than pristine also.

I’m all by myself in my room right now and can’t control my tears roll down my cheeks watching and listening to this version of theirs, so amazingly awesome...and the reason why I say this, first, I’m a filipino musician, too, for the past 50 years, I’m 67 now and just like these kids, never had a formal musical education, you know how hard is that and to later on perform professionally in front of thousands of spectators around the world, beside the fact, pronounce english words like a local speaker of the language, isn’t that so amazing? Shit man. These guys are amazing. They’re so young too. Nothing sloppy about their playing at all. Very tightly in sync and tune with each other. I don't usually comment on cover songs, for the mere fact that I am very picky with my music. The Eagles were one of my first true favorite bands. I was lucky enough to see them in concert before Glenn died. But back to the video at hand. I am so impressed with these young men. I apologize for not knowing names, but the lead singer and guitar player is so insanely talented. Do I realize that there should have been two guitars going back and forth on the solo? Of course I do. It didn't matter, he did it so well. I love how they started with the "Hell Freezes Over" version of the song and ended up finishing with the guitar riffs from the original with the heavier guitar sound. Great work guys, and keep it up for a long time to come.

Yes, this is not the original which is one of my all time favorites by my all time favorite band. I think they catch the spirit of the original very well, but is more laid back - less immediately present in the California desert, but makes a real connection to the music and is, as I think all covers should be - respectful of the original. I found the lead singers fingerings striking and satisfying in a fresh way and he certainly caught the strained aspect of the vocal very well while making it his own. Good stuff.
