I just found a major security flaw in the Reolink cameras. I have already posted on their message board but it is absurd to think it was there to begin with.

Are the two 4TB sufficient enough . I know we can do two 6TB but price wise it jumps quite a bit on 6TB. How many weeks of memory did it adds uip on your drive ? thx for the good video information.

On my 16 channel DVR I get about 25 days of recordings.

You may look at adding a fan to help dissipate the heat from the enclosure. I saw in another video that it’s an easy upgrade. I’ve got one in my cart on Amazon right now.

I think the maximum for this one is 8TB (look at the manufacturer data)

@@norcal715 That nvr doesn't have a spot in the back for external hard drive so you can go up to 12TB

I have 15 cameras and I get just about 28 days of storage in the "5MP" mode 2560X1920

I did tons of research and get different answers on storage at every turn. I planned on upgrading the NVR to 12 Terrabytes until you got back to me. I appreciate you!

getting ready to set up my camera system but its not ethernet wired which ethernet looks a lot better for cable management mine is video & power separately using baluns with CAT5 cable i got the dvr for free so thats the direction i have to go a could use Siamese cable but making cable management even harder

My old system was power/video and I used the baluns also. Made the ethernet system a breeze to install.

I added new hard drive it formatted and works fine. But the playback action clips do not work on the app.

Reolink updated their app in late April. I am having issues with my remote playback as well as live playback jumping. I may roll the app back to a previous version to see if that helps.

Do you know the format of the hard drive you removed? I'm getting ready to swap out the drive in my 8 channel NVR and I don't want to lose video of a package thief. Currently trying to backup that day but it's taking hours to backup to a USB flash drive

Sorry, I already reformatted that drive and used it in another application.

@@norcal715 it appears to be a Linux partition. I was able to backup the day I wanted to save and when I swapped out the drive, I used an Esata enclosure and when I booted the NVR, it could still see the history and all previous events were still there. No loss of data when swapping the drive and using the original drive as an external.

Help. My rln16-410 stopped working properly. I did the ff to try fix the prob but to no avail. 1. I was able to upgrade the firmware via usb. 2. I changed the 3tb hdd. The nvr powers up but does this funny sound. All the green and orange poe lights do light up and blinks simultaneously. And the nvr cannot be detected by the monitor via hdmi. Please help me how to fix it. Thanks

Check the power brick for correct 48VDC under load. Have you tried a factory reset?

Did you split the hard drives are will they switch when full?

Yes it does show 2 separate hard drives and will recycle the oldest recordings to make room for the newest ones.

do you have it where sometimes some cameras freeze on your monitor(they keep recording) just the live feed freezes.?

No I have not. I did have a defective camera that caused a random reboot however.

i think you can go up to 12 TB if i'm not mistaken i just ordered another hard drive 6Tb to bring my system it up to 9TB and after a while i'll replace the 3 with another 6tb

@@MrMoe158 with my settings for 10 cameras it was enough for 18 days. Though my biggest problem, which takes a quite significant amount of disc space is spider web.

I'm looking to get this system for my semi truck. Prolly going to have to put in ssd's... HDD's don't like vibrations and potholes.... Just hope I won't have too much stability issues on the cameras concerning the recording feed. There's been a major up tic in hit and runs and these cheap dash cams can't pull plates half the times... Good for insurance coverage, but I want people held accountable.
