My biggest complaint with this as a seal row pad is your face ends up right next to the upright. That’s why I like the Thresher so much, you have a good healthy distance from the upright which means you can also use it facing away from the rack like a Pritchett Pad (minus being offset for the landmine).

I pre-ordered this so you know I was excited about it but since receiving it, I haven't found much use for it so it mostly collects dust. Its does not even serve me as a seat for the lat pull downs. For most of the exercises mentioned like curls, flys, chest supported rows etc. it's just easier, simpler, and faster to use the bench that I'm already working out on. For context, I have the Rep PR 5000 with the cable attachment and the additional weights. The selectorize weights for a single stack on the Rep cable attachment only go up to ~155lbs, I can pull down over 200lbs for reps so I require the double stack which you can't use if you use the Pegasus Seat. It's ok for dumbbell rows, but isn't the best for barbell rows like Coop pointed out.....even when doing dumbbell rows its faster and easier to use my Rep fitness bench. I can't think about a single use case where I'd recommend its purchase to a home gym user, especially at that price.

does the prx axis thing achieve similar things? bells of steel? i'm still not certain why you can't just use an ad bench and rollers for most things this "does"
@killerkhatiby0092 ай бұрын
I had the same thoughts, but I was told one thing this can help with is if your rack has front extension feet you can't bring a bench right up against the upright easily so you can't really use your bench as a seat for pulldowns with just a lower cost leg holder attachment on the upright, so in that case an attachment like this can make pulldowns possible. But I am still trying to figure out how an adjustable bench can't already do the other things like chest supported rows and presses, especially given the only 300lb weight capacity. It seems a bit overpriced for mainly just allowing you to have a pulldown seat but there could be some other advantages to using an attachment like this instead of your bench for those exercises that I'm just not aware of.
@ckPinson-n4j2 ай бұрын
i'm looking to have as few pieces as possible so i'll actually use them all. this is why i ordered the dialed motion. use their method for lat and belt so that i can use mostly what i have already and not have to deal with carrying a heavy accessory around mounting and adjusting. i could literally use my entire 3 car garage as i have another but i just don't see the point in doing that. i'm not competing and im not training others so im looking to keep it minimal but full service. to each their own i just see this the same as i see lever arms-fun in theory but either in the way or unweildly

@douglowry73822 ай бұрын

Rep is really thinking some of these designs through, using them, and refining things until they're truly great. I also don't mind the weight of something like this given its usage and versatility. In terms of price, given the fact that Sorinex wants $369 for a basic piece (albeit well made), I'll spend another $30 to get something like this that's leagues ahead with respect to features. In my mind, this one is a value compared to those.

I want it just for the removable rollers that screw together in the post. Seriously, sell that as a standalone, and I'd buy it. Are there any other dual-side single-post rollers? Leg Hold Down Attachments always stick out too far.
The “full rom” argument kinda doesn’t matter. The stretched/extended portion of the movement is the most hypertrophic. The top of the movement isn’t that critical in the seal row.

Coop, I'm genuinely a little confused as to the usefulness of this thing, couldn't you do almost all of these features/exercises just as well with an adjustable bench and a cheap leg holder attachment off AMZN for pulldowns for like $75? Just slide your bench up close to your rack/cable system and you can incline for chest support, pressing, curls, etc..., and flat for a seat + leg holder w/pulldowns. Is there something that the Pegasus does so much better that it's worth the $400 if you've already got a good bench and leg roller attachment?
@polycultural-capital-enjoyer2 ай бұрын
Using your bench as a seat for pulldowns is impossible if you have front legs on your rack. It's also a lot more adjustable than any bench. But this would only make sense if you need a seat + leg holder, an adjustable row pad, and leg rollers. All 3 of these combined will run you about 350-400 USD.
@killerkhatiby0092 ай бұрын
@@polycultural-capital-enjoyer Ahh totally makes sense for racks with front stabilizing feet that aren't flat on the ground, can see how that would make it hard to pull up a bench to use as a seat with a leg holder attachment, good point!! My rack has flat feet that don't stick out much further than the front pulley does so I can do pulldowns with my bench as the seat and a cheap leg holder attachment on the upright without any issue. If I really need to, I can easily put a thick plate on each side of the rack foot to raise my bench feet on and give enough clearance to bring the bench pad right up against the upright too. But what are the advantages of a rack mounted row pad vs just inclining your bench to do some chest supported rows (and/or curls/presses like coop showed)? Especially with only a 300lb weight capacity! Seems like it accomplishes a very similar purpose unless it's something like a Pritchett Pad to offset you sightly from the upright for a t-bar row with a landmine.
@jlgg98162 ай бұрын
@@killerkhatiby009 Can’t you just rotate your bench 90 degrees to avoid its feet overlapping with the rack foot? That is, sit in the middle of the bench facing one side and place that close to the rack upright for lat pull down. The bench feet are far out to your left and right and the rack foot is directly underneath you.
@killerkhatiby0092 ай бұрын
@@jlgg9816 Ooh good point, that could definitely work with some benches and racks!! Though there are benches where the design of the frame could mean sitting right on the gap between the back and seat pads since that's the point on the frame that has the highest clearance off the ground, so it may not be ideal. Really just depends on how the bench frame and pads are designed I guess, but definitely could work for a lot of people and I think most benches should have enough clearance without needing to sit on the gap. Unfortunately, for my setup I actually need to decline the back pad to allow me to achieve full ROM since I'm a little tall and my rack is a bit too short for me when sitting on top of the bench when it's flat, so turning the bench sideways doesn't work for me either since I need to sit on the lowered head closer to the ground.

Not sure you understand physics. A 200 lb lifter supported on the pad does not weight 200 lbs from the perspective of the attachment. Further more, a 100 lb weight on the distal extremity of the lifter likewise does not have a 1:1 correlation of increase in the load which the pad experiences…

If only it could somehow, magically, be used as a lat pull down seat for racks that have a back center pull point.. thinking Ares and Rogue's offerings, for example. Sure, you could always just use it off one of the front uprights and use the pulley/2:1 ratio, but that's less than ideal. I have no practical suggestion on how to do that, since you'd need an upright awkwardly in your way, but I think many of us have lat pull downs that are based out of the back center of the rack and this doesn't quite hit that mark.
