You'd have to just take the weight stacks off, preferably you could move the rack (without the stacks) on a trailer with the rack still together. We've done it before with my R6. Love a good piece of engineering, especially one that allows multiple setups in a single space. And I think I'm one of the few people who would ENJOY putting it together. Unfortunately, due to my lack of a Rep rack and extreme stinginess, I don't see this in my near future. But it may be part of my dream build! (Their configuration wizard online is fun too!) Great video!

I think I would rather just have the sectorized lat and low row they have coming out. The low row looks really awkward and the 2 pulleys up high as well awkward. I'm guessing the Athena with the lat tower would be the best configuration but pricier.

Mine is together. Next step is tightening bolts and running the cables. I do have a couple of holes to drill through a 2x4 cross tie in my gym as it is above the crossmembers, but in the way of the cable. I put it together with the rack since I bought both new. I set the Ares base where I wanted it and then bolted four columns to it and went from there. I do intend on moving it when we move unless the buyers give me a fair price. I will just take it completely apart. It is officially my most expensive piece of equipment, eclipsing the rack itself.

Looks like a great space saving piece for most home gym owners. That specific functional trainer you have with 4:1 ratio, is going to be better for rehab purposes and speed training compared to the Ares. Mine is a 2:1 ratio with 160 lb stack so wish that was heavier but I’d never sell it.

@JonathanTReviews2 жыл бұрын
Really cool concept and it has useful applications. I personally have adequate space for a full and half rack, functional trainer, and separate lat/row. However, this would still be a nice replacement for even just the functional trainer since you still gain nice flexibility (ex: another place to use rack attachments). The need to bolt the 4 post version is one of the biggest downsides IMO. Cheers

With the 41" 6-post Ares, could you turn the bench around 180 degrees and have room for incline presses with j cups on the inside of the front posts? Thar Rep Ares double stack 315 lb trainer looks excellent. Besides price, the negatives are minimal. Huge variety of exercise selection, much safer than plates, cable exercises are easier on the joints, and space saving. Changing weight amounts is much faster and easier than with plates. You could save a lot of money by buying less, or no barbells and plates. I don't mind the more complex install, as this is a more complex piece of equipment. BTW when you row you are pulling slightly upward and slightly shrugging, working out a bit more traps and a bit less of lats. For more lat activation, row lower.
