It's crazy we need bullet proof door's at school's, I realize things have changed from the 80's when I was in school and my school was also out in the country in Michigan we actually could bring gun's and leave them in the vehicle during hunting season.

What I don’t understand, we have a small farming area school. You can easy walk from one city limit sign to the other in about 10 minutes. At 7:30 in the morning on school days, all the doors leading to the outside of the school locked. The only way to get in is to be buzzed in by the office through one door and one door only I don’t understand, why these bigger schools don’t do that as well.

The real question is why do we have to do this? I'm 64 and grew up just outside of Detroit and we didn't have police or metal detectors in our schools. There were no fights or violence. All my friends had guns and went hunting with their fathers every year. Again, we need to fix the root of the problem not pick up the pieces afterward and it isn't gun control. We are like dogs chasing our tail.
