helloooooo so yall are gonna have to excuse my cold throughout this voice over because ive been feeling rough lately but I have a doll repaint for you guys today! I was invited to partake in a summer lolita collab and I had to say yes because lolita is just one of my favorite styles of fashion. tiny brushes:
-princeton velvettouch round 20/0(my fav)
-wargamer "the psycho" army painter brush (its actually called the psycho, this ones quite good. its not as stiff as the one above so i find i have a little less control but its still a nice brush for details)
-arteje 100/0 camlon micro paint brush( this ones quite a bit stiffer than the other two but its a super tiny brush. its a bit hard to control but probably the finest brush i have)
I use a liquid brush shaper i got from blick awhile ago with all these brushes. this has really helped me with their longevity and keeping their shape which is kind of difficult with really fine brushes.

So well done. I especially love her eyes. Have you tried the Blick website or store if you have one to see if they have that pencil you need. You can get just a single color from a set depending on the brand.

She's really cute but she's not lolita, if you want to learn more about the actual fashion you should check out Lovley Lors video "lolita fashion explained in 5 minutes" I think it's called. While some lolita fashion brands might make swimsuits that's not part of lolita fashion. If you went swimming in lolita fashion you'd drown lol

Hmmm I watched the video you referred to. Jacky did say that she's being experimental and wanted to envision what a bathing suit would look like in "Lolita" despite it rarely existing in the fashion. So we can say that this is Lolita inspired rather than it not being Lolita. There are some aspects from Lolita fashion that have been incorporated in the doll design (color scheme, bows, accessories). Also in the video you referenced, she does not say that the fashion is restricted to certain outfits either (despite the majority appearing to). So to each its own I guess.

I agree I think it’s more inspired by the fashion which is a fun interpretation! As someone who’s been in the fashion a long time I like envisioning different themes like sporty lolita! I think it’s a fun creative exercise plus a way to combine things you love 💕

I think it's more like "what a lolita would wear to the beach" which is why lolita brands make swimsuits and roomwear, etc. It would be silly to wear a btssb swim suit or night gown to a regular meetup obviously but it's still part of the aesthetic and lifestyle. Also, I love the idea of wearing wristcuffs to go swimming, definitely from the lolita imagination lol
