Repaint: Elaborate Complexion Bride of Frankenstein Monster High Art Doll

This is a video showing my process for creating a new faceup for a fashion doll. I go over prepping the doll, painting the face, creating a unique complexion, making clothes and drafting patterns, rerooting the hair and styling it.

I feel like there isn’t enough Frankie repaints there’s much more Draculauras and Lagoonas so I’m fine with seeing more Frankies 🙂. She turned out to be stunning and I love her chiffon dress it’s like a couture version of the original.

Thank you! While I love the original design I felt like her dress was really just a draped sheet so she needed a bit of couture :) Frankie is one of my favorite to repaint, her and Clawdeen. I find Draculaura's skin tone difficult to choose the right colors for contouring and Lagoona's eyes are a bit buggy.

Can't wait for Halloween, we don't celebrate it in my country but the doll customization community always drops such amazing customs in spirit of the season, really gets me into a spooky mood lol. Also I never truly realized how versatile the Frankie head sculpt was, really need to customize some of my neglected Frankie dolls lol.

Thank you so much! Frankie is one of my favorite to work with, I really like her sculpting. Clawdeen is another I really like, I just wish she had real ears. I would be so sad if I had to move somewhere that didn't celebrate Halloween, I would miss it so much!

@@LadyDynamiteCreates I wish for Halloween in my country every year, some parts do it but not the general population unfortunately 😞. On a lighter note, Clawdeen is my favorite too (think its because of her more human like skin tone so I love Cleo aswell) and one of my Clawdeen customs has a pixie cut like stye but I had to style it to cover the _void_ where her ears would have been lol, really wish I could given her ear rings but alas.

I love her! I have been building a collection of MH dolls so I can learn to repaint them and Bride of Frankenstien is the first one I want to try to re create. What a fantastic make over. I have had no problem finding her, I have around 10 in my stock box at the moment but her eyes are so deep set I find her challenging. I have currently only repainted her once.

On another note, as this was a msc-heavy creation; if one would average on around 4-5 layers of msc, how “long” does one can of msc last for? Or rather, how many doll repaints? 🤔 I’m just getting started (not a KZbinr though), and I’ve gotten so many nice things for doll repainting for Christmas and I’m so excited! It’s just very hard to get my fingers on msc lol, so I’d thought I ask you in case I really need to stock up or if I can start out with just buying 2-3 cans, and be all set for the time being? Thank you in advance (and sorry if I’m making no sense at all, English is not my first language)

Thank you so much. I can usually get 3-4 dolls from a single can of MSC. If they were more MSC heavy like a full body color change using pastels I would get less though. I buy from a place located in Florida, US but they ship internationally and they have really good prices on MSC even when Amazon prices skyrocket (spraygunner.com/gsi-creos-mr-super-clear-uv-cut-aerosol-flat/) I usually buy 3 cans at a time and restock when I get down to just 1, so that I save on shipping. I wish you luck with your repaints! Getting new supplies is always my favorite part about Christmas :)
