Repair a broken car antenna

I have an 8 feet telescopic mast and wanted to make a similar antenna out of it. But couldn't figure out how to feed the cable into it without spilling it outside. Thought they used simple braided cables. But I see they use toothed cable which makes the job easier. Thanks.

if in australia and drive cable is broken,down to upullit 97,98 nissan maxima cable and antenna,use patrol antenna tube,reassemble,works great.

Excellent work. However, what was the one you were soldering together? Im trying to fix my own y61 antenna to because it got stuck. And usually when I turn off the radio the antenna goes down. This time it doesnt.

I did not replace, I just cut out of the antenna!

How did you get the silver antenna pipe out of the black plastic assembly??? Desperately need to figure that part out, but was skipped in this clip.

ive seen they take it with a mallet if it doesnt come out in a vice grip, its kinda hard when theyre old
