I decided to give this a try as a way to take my mind off things. Got a worn old planter, put it in a bag, and dropped it. Wow.. it exploded! Then I figured if I could do that one I could do just about any broken item. I proceeded to zone out for the rest of the night figuring out the puzzle, prepping edges, and taping it together. There is enough to make a cup again so I will try to epoxy it soon. I'd call the experience a total success for de-stressing!

Isn't real kintsugi done with lacquer not epoxy and isn't epoxy not food safe?

Epoxy is definitely not food safe but it can be nice for display if you don't mind not using it to eat anymore

Sure, the finished result lacks the anticipated refinement most people would hope to achieve with a home project like this, but for anyone who doesn't have a kintsugi pottery master on hand to make it perfect, this seems like an affordable and quick way to do it.
