Splitting these keys open is VERY hard depends on model but mine had a massive weld over the battery terminals and I had to use a soldering iron to melt it but managed to open it and re-solder the coil to get rid of card not detected!

Steve Hurt I never had an original Renault key in the first place it seems the last owner had already changed it, I would suggest getting a replacement case first then open the old one and as long as you don't damage the P.C.B the the old case can go in the bin
@stevehurt16157 жыл бұрын
opening the ORIGINAL requires a lot of effort with a stanley round the perimeter of unit and a soldering iron to melt the plastic inside if you use a knife you either loose a finger or scratch the PCB. It looks like you have an original one that was damaged but your video makes opening one of these units a doddle and it is not. putting a snide £3 casing back on is whats easy and you have a link from an ebay seller promoting their cheap and nasty replacement!

@@dmgladden the battery terminals are embedded in the case....therefore when you said...take it appart you have to keep the front side is all.

@@8803surri no mate really mine came out as a one, I think it was already a second case so maybe the separating had been done before but it shows it can be done and the you can replace it all as I show in this video
