Nice fix man I’ve had issues with SMD resistors on this model splitting at the ends on the same board you repaired, the fault was a intermittent hiss after it had been on a while. I recapped a AZUR 840a yesterday that was not a fun amp to take apart.

Nice video! I worked for 19 years in the electronics industry, cracked ceramic capacitors are a well known issue as they are fragile. A pick and place machine could cause cracks, but so coould bending of the pcb or placing those caps too close to a V-groove in the pcb. You mention a systemic fault, so I'd say it might be a batch fault. If you look back at the other repair, I wouldn't be surprised to see that the board in the other amp belongs to the same batch. Look for datecodes on components or the pcb itself, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if they are very similar of the same. Edit: just looked at the other video and yeah, there's only 8 weeks between the datecode of this pcb and the other pcb. They might very well have been run in the same batch.

Hi Sir, I just bought an used CXA60, referring to the 4 capacitors for power section, may I know what is the capacitor value?
@myalbatech3 жыл бұрын
100nF

@@myalbatech Oh, I meant the 4 big capacitors. I think 4 x 6800uF?
@myalbatech3 жыл бұрын
@@oldaltis Oh those are 4700uF 63v - quite small actually.

@@myalbatech Oh, that's really small value! I've been misinformed then. Is the CXA80 getting bigger caps?

@@oldaltis I don't know I'm afraid, will take note next time I see one of these.

I don't know, but 2 out of 2 seems more than a coincidence.
