You're a lifesaver! The screen on my GH3 has been wiggly for a while now, it's been driving me nuts. Now it feels just like it did when I first bought it, thanks!

TWO TIPS from my clock restoration work. (1) When removing screws use a piece of stiff paper or light card with small holes poked through in the same pattern as found on the camera and push the screws into these holes. The paper will hold them in place so that they cannot roll away or get knocked to the floor. I found cornflake packet card to be idea for all sizes of screw. (2) When replacing screws that have been driven into plastic, rotate them slowly counter-clockwise whilst applying gentle downward pressure until you hear or feel a slight "click". This is when the thread on the screw drops into the thread in the camera body and so now you can tightened the screw in the sure knowledge that you are not cutting a new thread in the body thus weakening the grip.

THANK YOU so very much for this tutorial! I had this problem with my GH3 and it was worsening. It was so loose that it introduced camera shake even in a sturdy tripod, in the event of a breeze. I was about to send it Panasonic for a costly repair and time without my camera. I followed your directions and fixed it myself in about 15 minutes! Thank you again. Note: Screwdriver required is PH#00, not #0.

Thanks for the update on the screwdriver tip size. Glad the instruction helped though.

@@GrahamHoughton12 Hi, I don’t know if you can help. The eye piece on my fz2000 has worked loose . Panasonic are not able to repair due to covid so I was going to try. Have you encountered this issue before? I can’t even find a link to the service manual to work out how to do the repair. Many thanks- great fz2000 series!

Done! Thank you very much, Sir! On my GH3 I had to fix the lower screw of the hinge as well and now my screen isn't wobbly anymore. Following your video it was kind of a snap :-)

Thanks for your informative video. I referenced your video and David Thorpe's. I was able to tighten up the wobbly LCD screen on my GH3. I used the sticky side of some masking tape to keep the loosened screws from rolling around. I also labeled the screw positions as you recommended.

Great tutorial. Followed exactly these instructions and repaired the same fault on my GH3. Don't despair if you accidentally disconnect a ribbon cable. I youtubed how to reconnect a ribbon cable and got mine back in place.

Thanks for the video, Graham. This hasn't happened to my GH3...yet. But I guess it will only be a matter of time before it does.

Can you suggest what to use to get out the battery screw? I have almost stripped it using the same screwdriver that I was able to get all the other screws out with.

Hi there, thanks a lot for the video, I have a problem with my G7 and I was thinking of opening it cause I can´t find no one who can fix it.. My mini HDMI port is broken and I need to change it.. Do you think I could do this? I am afraid once I open the camera it won´t be easy to close it again

I’m currently facing an issue with my GH5 and could really use your expertise. The mode dial has become stuck and non-functional. Before disassembling the device, I carefully checked the manual and confirmed that the mode dial was not locked, as the lock button was not pressed. After disassembling the top unit and replacing the button, I'm struggling to reassemble it correctly. Specifically, I’d like to know: How many 1.5mm bearing balls should be placed under the mode dial? Where exactly should the springs be positioned, and how many are required? After reassembling everything, the mode dial spins freely without engaging, and the middle screw turns without any resistance. If anyone has experience with this issue or knows the correct assembly process, your tips and guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Be very careful with this procedure. In my case the ribbon cable that leads to the menu button and surrounding buttons came a bit loose! I had to dissasemble the camera a second time to tighten the cable.

Phillips 0? On most cameras and lenses that's too big - you need a Phillips 00.
