Repair Of BENQ PB6210 DLP Projector

Here's a DLP projector i got from FB market place for $10, turns out its faulty, and it doesn't have just one fault, but two separate faults...

Hi, Thanks for all the helpful videos, and for the detail you give. I have a BENQ PB6110, with the same regulator, damaged in exactly the same way. I know this video goes back some time, and hope you'll still be able to help me.. do you know if that regulator has any other or equivalent codes.. I'm in South Africa, and components are pretty hard to source. Hope you can help.. Thanks again for the great videos.

Hi there, I got excactly the same projector. It turns on, and after the loading screen I get this same warning about the hours, and then it turns off and get a red light at the lamp indicator. I can't press any button after the loading screen, so i cant go in menu or something? I have tried tricking the thermostat and thermosensor with a resistor. I tried cleaning the colourwheel and sensor. Yes the lamp is old, but must not cause the OS to freeze right? The warning says 2300 hours. All the fans are spinning, the lampfan doesn't spin at the beginning, but spins when the red light is on. The lamp should warm up right? So it is normal that the fan doesnt spin in the first times?

Yeah it is, have you had a look in a manual what the red light means? It could be telling you an error

All I get is searching for a signal I connected one item but still does not show does that mean my projector is mest up?

Check your cables, check that the format is correct and check if the socket on the projector is not damaged. Try different input source.

Hi, sounds like DLP chip needs resoldering. You can also check all low power rails to make sure all voltages correct and no short circuits and all capacitors are good

I have the same accurate issue.. same regulator broken and same dad1000 fried.. make me think its enginired to fail.

That’s a possibility, there are some companies knows to design some IC’s to purposely fail after x amount of time.

Well I was fixing it because it was something to fix, I gave it to a friend after I fixed it, but if it’s a projector that you are using then yes, of corse you should fix it.

Check that all voltage regulators, and capacitors.
