Repair of generator systems from hydroelectric energy | Ana Bushcraft - Living off the grid Ep.28.
How to harness hydroelectric power when living alone in the wilderness?
----------------------------------------------------------
Ana's has been installing and using hydroelectric power for quite some time. Due to a part of the generator being submerged in water for days leads to damage and needs to be repaired. Ana's has no spare parts at the moment and Ana's repaired the generator herself Ana's way. This method may not be used for a long time, but it can solve the immediate problem. How do people see Ana's handling? How long do you think Ana's generator will last? Leave your thoughts below in the comments section. Thank you very much and see you in the next videos on Ana Bushcraft channel.

@@Jason-Dawg no chance she is the videographer. too many camera angle moves, many of which cross the stream while she's doing things like mixing mortar. being your own cameraman is time consuming. Someone is showing up with fresh batteries everyday and she has a production crew that does some of her work and helps her in somewhat obvious ways. The pre notched lumber for the wooden hut, the perfectly square holes on the walls of the outhouse (just appeared 100% off camera because the were likely cut with a power tool). Additionally a lot of the scenes and video's end with a slow zoom that is being operated by someone. She has a 50-60kg bag of cement, I don't think she carried that very far if at all, she never moves it but someone moved it to where she has it. It's a feel good story that she did everything herself it's just not realistic.

Very funny. Tools appear as needed, grease as well. Steel on steel disinigrates, magic foam slippers will last. Full make up, clean hair and cloths and wrack of ribs. The power supply might charge a cell phone, the wood would last about a week. I am a city boy, imagine what others think. If this is bush craft anime translates to documantary.

it's a feel good story but I doubt she even lives there. She's not covered in bug bites and she's not covering herself in deet every day. She's almost always clean, clean clothes, pre notched lumber and milled lumber regularly appear, the tools of the day also appear. She doesn't have a single thing with bolts in in it and suddenly has the exact wrenches to take apart the generator. She's talented and the video's are interesting but a lot of it is scripted and faked. Sje also has a good degree of support and likely often sleeps somewhere without bugs. There was obviously already a dam where she built her dam and if the dam was gone how did her vortex diversion get full of rocks. The entire dam thing was staged.

The bathing place is next to the sleeping wooden hut, which is more humid. Why not wall up the shower area with cement bricks to prevent water from splashing on the siding of the log cabin? In addition, there is also a problem with the wooden roof of the shower cabin. When it rains, the rainwater will drip down the siding of the cabin along the wooden house, which will cause moisture problems. The roof of the shower room should be inclined to the hillside. Let the rain run smoothly to the hillside, so as not to cause the dampness of the room siding. The shower room and kitchen are located close to the hillside. It is recommended to build a soil-proof wooden wall structure or a cement brick wall structure to prevent the problem of mudslides and collapse.

A rather ingenious way to make a temporary repair, could hold up for awhile as long as it doesn't get hot causing it to deform, will require a new bearing eventually though for permanent repair. Nifty little trick, hopefully it doesn't go out and cause more damage to the generator. You are a marvel to watch, love your inventiveness, you have a very methodical mind for solving encountered issues!
@brianb7388
@brianb7388 2 жыл бұрын
I was trying to decide mentally if that would hold up. How hot does that spinning metal make the grease. There's no cooling, the water is at the other end and what temp does flip flop foam start to degrade. I sort of think just taking away the damaged metal parts and repacking/regreasing the bearing might have been the better fix but I'm not sure if she got all the balls or if the race was too worn/damaged. It was hard to tell where the metal shavings were originating from. She has access to some form of hardware store, and clearly has support from people with access to more tools than her because she suddenly had wrenches despite never having a nut to turn in anything she ever built and all the parts for her wiring and lighting systems come in packaging and a bag from a store. maybe just get a new bearing. maybe off camera her support team put a new bearing on and this was just a cool idea for show. very hard to tell how much of this is simply made up like the electrical blockage which seemed staged and rebuilding a dam that clearly must have already existed not long ago.

@@rkaski1958 because it's vertical there's not a lot of radial force, it's mostly vertical force/thrust and friction caused by rotation you have to account for. Given that it's basically just serving as a guide bushing with very little horizontal force it might last for a while. I think the biggest problem is now you're not supporting any of the weight of the shaft and moving parts (which isn't huge but still needs to be considered) and the top bearing must be doing double duty in that regard and will likely fail much faster.
