Awesome sauce! Glad to hear that yet one more person has made the scary journey through the internals of their precious Rollei. It's now time to go out and shoot a roll in celebration!

Thanks for that! I would like to ask if is the same process even for Rollei 35 SE model

Sorry, but I can't say--I have a 35 and a 35T, but not a SE. I suspect the SE will have substantial internal differences because of the location of the battery moving from the inside right to the top of the camera (if that's the camera I'm thinking of).

Thank you so much for this. I’m a little scared to start this process on my 35S. Do you think everything would be the same for that model ?
@TadTaddАй бұрын
I totally understand. I imagine that things would be the same--I did this on a Rollei 35 and a Rollei 35T, and they were identical, with some differences in quality of parts. Look at the various steps and see if your camera's screws and such all match. Odds are that yours has everything in the same place, but no guarantees. Work on a towel so that any falling screws don't disappear. Don't let that gear jump out of place. You may need to heat the three screws that hold the lever on to break the Locktite or whatever they used. Rumor has it that there is a small piece of the shutter button that can fall out, so watch out for that.

Would light machine oil work to lubricate these gears?
@TadTadd25 күн бұрын
Probably, but just the barest whisper would do. I'm thinking about gun oil or electric motor oil (i.e. fan oil), not even a whole drop. Use the naphtha to dissolve the old glop and then give a teensy bit of lubricant.
