I urge you to use some flux and maybe remove the old solder/add new one. What you did is most likely a cold joint and won't last long IMHO. Nice video though!

for those interested on my repair. i followed his steps, since i dont have the beeper feature, i used the ohm feature of my tester and i noticed 1 pin has 0ohm resistance and 1 pin has about 100000ohm resistance for good mosfet. for bad mosfet, both pins have 0 ohm resistance. i just salvaged a mosfet from another motherboard. though not the same, it seems to work but not sure for how long

What if there's no buzz sound at all at some mosfets? Does it mean there's short too?

So the open is bypassed without the CPU power plugged in. But when the CPU is plugged in it re routes the connection but ends continuity because of the open thus shutting down all power anywhere on the board.

I had an issue connecting my PWM Hub on the case to the CPU_FAN on my motherboard, as the cable fried and melted. :( Now the MB doesn't work. The CPU Cooler will work on the SYS FAN connector on the MB but not the CPU_FAN any more. It's a Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H. I followed your process checking all mosfets that looks similar to video, but can't seem to find a mosfet that reacts like yours with 2 x beeps. Any other suggestions to try to see if I can resurrect the MB?

8 mosfet is the same method, look for dot sign on top that the 1st leg. check all 4 leg with ground. if buzzer beep 4 time , it's a broken. 3beep leg no.1,2,3 it's normal.

I have adding hdd on x99 lga2011-3 and after that not starting. If I remove 2x4 power to cpu,just rebooting loop,but when I put this 2x4 power it start less then seconds on every power button pressing. 2x4 connector gas 4 gnd 4x+12v, when insert one of them voltage drops to 2v,but problem is no standard mosfet transistor but has 6x ir3556 Any info how to test this integrated fets???

1. no it can be any mosfet with right channel, package and minimally tha same or higher amperage 2. flux is NESSESSARY anytime when soldering 3. u can ose hotair, infrared or laser beam. soldering is just heating

i have a mobo that i have already replaced with an asrock ... but the problematic mobo is a msi 970-g46 .. i was getting pink screens and all my usb connectors went dead . eventually i realized my pcie slot was also dead .. idk if this was for a memory issue, or what, but i replaced the mobo and everything worked fine after that. apart from tons of stop codes. but they have seem to calm down now ... fingers crossed . now im kinda curious would something like that be refurbishable ? or are dead mother boards worth anything at all? or is this just a total loss ? i dont even know where to get rid of mobos ... its still a beautiful mobo i could make it into a piece of art and hang it on my wall

Bruce Lee i use cellkit 805d, it like gordak or else, but not like hakko. I use 4 for air flow, and 4-4,5 for hot (about 330c-360c). But in high motherboard it's more hot than low med motherboard
